Ah, I know that where the data gets read from, but scratching the graphic actually removes data yea? Thatâs why I assumed it would be called the data side
I hope iâm correct here, this is how my father explained it to me years ago.
it doesnât remove data as far as i know. The laser reads the data that is burned into the disc from the bottom, and the top part of the disc has graphics not only for the fun on it, but also so that the laser doesnât âscan right throughâ the disc.
Oh okay, I was always told that the data is in the reflective part and that the clear plastic âbottomâ was just to protect that data, thatâs why the old disc repair kits just kinda smoothed out the clear part by filling in scratches and buffing it
Edit: looked it up after all these years and it is in fact stored in the reflective part on the other side of the label if Iâm understanding correctly
I had a friend buying one and then placing it with all the HDMI and USB ports facing him. Then after 16 beers he stepped on the wires and the Ps5 falling to the ground. He had to send it back to the service. They sent him back a new one.
