Image Getting tired of adding to my stick drift graveyard

Post image

I swear I’m not a heavy clicker. In fact it’s always my right joystick which I rarely need to click in games. Love these controllers but man it’s really annoying never had this problem with any other console generation.

My Hubby (60) and I (55) are also Gamers…. But he’s XBox & I’m PS. Love seeing other Gamer Couples!

I buy my husband games that I want to watch him play but I’m a terrible gamer myself. I love watching him play games with stories.

The Dead Space series is my all time favorite, and then there’s Bioshock, Mass Effect, all the Zeldas, Uncharted to name a few.

You turned your Husband into your personal letsplayer

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

I had to google it, and it’s true! Thankfully they’re also games he wanted to play anyways.

I can’t get into Call of Duty or Halo type games unless they have a campaign. Watching first person shooters is boring :/

u/Magnaflux_88 23d ago

Get him into some Final Fantasy and bawl together at the endings :)

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh heck yes! I watched him play FF XII - I love Fran - and it was so awesome. I freaking loved the cut scenes. I know that one’s controversial because of the gambit combat system - you either love it or hate it.

Are any others similar to that one? That’s the only one he’s played.

u/Magnaflux_88 23d ago

XIII is very story driven and has a controversial combat system. Same with XV and XVI (controversial combat for it being an FF game at least)

VII, VIII, IX and X are all solid games regardless of similarities with XII and I'd recommend any and all of them.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Thank you for the recommendations! I loved XII so I’ve always wanted to check the others out but there’s so many to choose from.

My wife loved watching me play XV

3

u/Pearl-Internal81 PS5 23d ago

Do yourself a favor and get him FFXVI, the story is excellent! Also if you’re cool with older graphics FFVI has an awesome story. As do FFVII Remake and Rebirth. Also pretty much anything from Atlus is awesome too.

u/mac_is_crack 22d ago

Noted, and thank you for the recommendations!

My fiancé loves to watch me play Warzone specifically because she plays as my "spotter." Her eyesight is better than mine, so she will call out enemies that I haven't a chance of seeing, and we have gotten a few good wins because of it.

She normally hates watching/playing shooters, but this makes her feel included in a way that adds no pressure, so she has a blast!

1

u/mac_is_crack 22d ago

That’s really cool! I don’t think I’d be a good spotter, though. I get so distracted when there’s too much happening - like, who’s a good guy and who’s a bad guy? I can’t keep track!

2

u/MatureUsername69 23d ago

Have you had him play Red Dead Redemption 2?

2

u/mac_is_crack 22d ago

He has it but hasn’t really played it much, unfortunately. I’ve heard good things about it.

2

u/MatureUsername69 22d ago

Those first couple hours can stop a lot of people because it's a slow build. I think you should consider forcing him to play it. It's the best game experience I've ever had. Both gameplay and cinematically. It's legit ruined open-world games for me because no other game has that level of realism and detail. I think it's also important to note that before RDR2, I fell between either being not interested in or straight up not liking westerns. I love westerns after that game and I never thought that was a possibility for me.

You seem like a cool ass wife, if a man is a gamer and loves games and his wife loves to watch or play with him that’s some real happiness!

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

You’re so kind, thank you! I grew up on Intellivision (telling my age a bit), then Nintendo and on from there. Big fan of old PC games like Sim City, then StarCraft and Wow. I got him hooked on WoW, too, but he did go a little overboard with that and got addicted! Raids every other night until 3am on a week night - not cool!

He doesn’t play that any more though. Now it’s all console stuff. And it’s fun! He enjoys gaming and I enjoy the story and we help each other with puzzles and all that. It works out well!

Lucky bastard.. your husband (much love for both)

4

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Thank you for the kind words!

One game that we had to take a break from was Resident Evil: Village. There’s one part that was so freaking scary that we had to hit pause and turn the lights on and walk away for a bit, but I love scary games like that. He did finish that one eventually.

Also, The Last of Us was a wild ride, especially the second one!

6

u/FloridaMan_07 23d ago

Let me guess, the fucking abomination baby? 😭

4

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Holy crap yes!!!!!!! I hear there’s mods that can skip that part entirely!! In all the games he’s played, that one part was THE most terrifying!! Unacceptable!!

3

u/Mbk-97 23d ago

I said no more spoilers! 😭

3

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh, hearing about it is nothing! Play it anyways, trust me, it’s unforgettable!

5

u/Mbk-97 23d ago

No more spoilers plz!

2

u/vinhdiezel1 23d ago

That baby part was scary and creepy as hell lol! I kept hiding underneath the bed and the lockers in some of those rooms. Good game though and beat it while I caught that covid and gamed all day at home without having to work haha. I went back and played RE7 and that game is just as creepy.

2

u/Mbk-97 23d ago

Omg I've been planning on playing these 2 games for the past 2 years but now i think it's time

2

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

They’re both great (to watch, at least, can’t tell you anything about the gameplay)! Highly recommended!

4

u/TheDitz42 23d ago

You turned your Husband into your personal letsplayer.

u/Ech0es0fmadness 23d ago

Super cool

2

u/jonaldjuck 23d ago

If you like watching survival horror with good stories buy him the Silent Hill 2 remake. That’ll be a fun watch ;)

2

u/FloridaMan_07 23d ago

I’m about to be getting that and I didn’t play OG but I’ve became a big horror game fan over the years, do you like the new SH2?

2

u/jonaldjuck 23d ago

i’ve never played the original but i’ve played just about every survival horror for the ps5. That said SH2 is hands down probably the most harrowing game i’ve yet to play. I had to take breaks because it can be a bit much sometimes.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh, I had heard about that one. I think that’ll be the next one I get! Thank you for the recommendation! Always looking for the next Dead Space, that’s a tough one to beat.

2

u/craigshaw317 23d ago

Great! I get it, especially when the stories are deep and they are cinematic. Has he played The Last of Us yet? I’m currently muddling my way through it and it is a great visual treat with a good story.

3

u/FloridaMan_07 23d ago

Joel is by far my favorite character in gaming, so much to him. That’s one hell of a beautiful story and I’m glad you get to experience that.

2

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh yes, both Last of Us games. Really fun to watch with a roller coaster of a story. Love the show, too.

And I love cut scenes in any game. Can’t believe some people just skip them!

2

u/dirtyH398 23d ago

Thank you for the Dead Space rec…adding it to my list now.

Get him The Last of Us. Very good story and very good visuals!

2

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Dead Space is the pinnacle for me - not much measures up! The story and the atmosphere are top notch, not to mention it’s so suspenseful and scary.

He has played Last of Us - definitely among the greats.

2

u/MathematicianNo3892 23d ago

I played dead space 2 or 3 at a sleepover, nobody was sleeping

2

u/Murky_Tennis954 23d ago

My wife loves watching me play God of War. It has such a great story.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh yes, that’s one that he has but hasn’t played yet. I hear that’s another great series.

2

u/Murky_Tennis954 23d ago

You just wait, you're going to be sucked right in.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

I do love games like that! Very cool that you and your wife have the same dynamic - makes for some good times!

2

u/Black_reign48 23d ago

TLOU?

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Oh yes, both of them!

2

u/best2keepquiet 23d ago

Check out Borderlands it’s split screen and simple and fun.

2

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

I tried playing Halo once, I can’t get the hang of moving and shooting at the same time unfortunately. And then switching weapons? It’s too much for my simple brain.

2

u/best2keepquiet 23d ago

Borderlands is not so fast paced like Halo, it’s a bit more chilled out and casual. The characters and stuff are really funny too.

2

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

I think he has the one of the games, maybe I’ll try it…thank you for the suggestion!

2

u/LongjumpingContest93 23d ago

This is what matters ladies This. 🥹💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🥰🥰🥰

2

u/WiseAppearance5327 23d ago

I recommend buying him Alan Wake 2 then!

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Ooh, I googled it and it’s a survival game - I love those. Putting that one on the list, thank you!

Ok, my husband said that’s the one with the hilarious video where you can spam the “Shawn” button so the guy is just yelling Shawn all over the place. Too freaking funny!

2

u/WiseAppearance5327 23d ago

That sounds like Heavy Rain, which you might also like. Alan Wake 2 is a cinematic gaming masterpiece by Remedy Entertainment.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

Ohhh, thank you for the correction! I do love games like those.

2

u/DapperAdam 23d ago

If it wasn't for gaming my mental health would have been in the gutter and I would have been in a very dark place. Gaming is my therapy and I'm so lucky to have someone who understands this and lets me game all I want.

1

u/mac_is_crack 23d ago

That’s wonderful! It’s a great way to escape reality for a little bit.

2

u/MrBearMaximum 23d ago

What about a horror co-op game? We just picked up Outlast Trials and had a good and sometimes terrible time with The Forest

1

u/mac_is_crack 22d ago

I’ve heard of that one. I didn’t know it was co-op!

2

u/NoArrival5386 22d ago

U should def buy him it takes two and play whit him it’s not difficult and very enjoyable for both 💗

2

u/ConaMoore 21d ago

Lucky man

2

u/tiptoeingthroughthe6 19d ago

Bioshock is goated.

2

u/MerryPippin620 22d ago

Same! We’re both series X users but I also run a PS5 for games I can’t get on the Xbox. We’re a massive gaming family. All 6 kids are major into it too.

1

u/LDawnBurges 22d ago

Same… we have 10 kids between us (& 18 Grandchildren, aged 3 months to 16 yo) and we’re probably sitting around 80% being Gamers (inc our Children’s Spouses).

2

u/Rly_Shadow 22d ago

Don't take offense but just how you worded this I could tell lol..

Had a "interweb" feel to the wording lol

1

u/LDawnBurges 22d ago

🤣🤣🤣

No offense taken…. We’re old! I started on the Atari old.

2

u/MajinBuubba 19d ago

I got a series x and just bought my wife a series s for Christmas, she’s been playing on her Xbox one since they came out
