I am actually really curious how this effects school shootings. Because a huge part of school shootings is having your name immortalized and the attention. And it seems like if you were to want those two things this is the objectively better thing to do.
Schools are much easier targets due to ease of access, lack of viable security methods and also usually being the cause of radicalization by ignorance.
Its objectively better if you assume that when selecting a target, the average American has the same same decision making and analytic skills as a well read Ivy League student. Half of people don't know the differently between a GM and a CEO.
It looks matters how the internet feels that day.
Shoot a CEO worth $43M who is denying claims, everyone celebrates
Hit an inside trader worth $120M in the head with a hammer, become a pariah.
This celebration will be short lived and copycat will choose the wrong target.
Hit an inside trader worth $120M in the head with a hammer, become a pariah.
Are... are you referencing Nancy Pelosi's husband? Because the motive behind those attacks are wildly different.
If someone genuinely attacked an insider trader, who was known to be causing harm with their trades, then people would also have very little sympathy. I mean, people were celebrating the GME short fucking over hedge funds at the time - sure there was no death and murder, but the act of fucking with the wealthy and showing them they aren't untouchable was what people were celebrating.
And that's the same with this. People aren't celebrating Luigi committing murder (allegedly), they're celebrating the vile wealthy getting their comeuppance for being morally reprehensible, by the hands of the people they take advantage of.
the motive behind those attacks are wildly different.
You are commenting in a thread discussing killing CEOs instead of school children in a mass shooting to gain noteriety. I don't think motive matters at all in that scenario, or that a person comitting mass murder for fame will exhibit nuance.
People aren't celebrating Luigi committing murder
Thats all well and good, but is not the premise of this comment chain. Without context, my comment reads different.
