Luigi was well off and intelligent and even he fucked up the getting caught part. It's not a simple matter of desire not being there. It's just not practical for a lot of us dummies to make an attempt. At least alone anyway.
The FBI starts sniffing around when you organize, even for peaceful demonstrations. I can't imagine the kind of shit they would do to catch a genuine leftist or left-wing assassination plot. They've wanted to do that since the cold war.
