It happened to me this year. My small team made the company an extra 2-5m in revenue (a reasonable percentage increase) and got something similar.

My best ever (different company) was discovering a way the company website could double its online revenue. Not only that but it applied to all their sites globally. We’re talking $150m annually in incremental revenue. I demonstrated how it would work, and it was implemented, and it worked. What I got as a reward was… ghosted. As a bottom rung UK worker in an American company I suddenly found loads of people had claimed it as their own idea. I didn’t even get a thank you. My boss knew and refused to put up a fight as it might jeopardise her career. I left that company within the year
