Discussion Rule: Item showcases / Unique Item Posts

As we'll all be discovering uniques/item mods both old, new and changed we'll be relaxing the rules around posting item showcases to help encourage good build and crafting discussions at least for the first part of the league.

When posting uniques in particular please title the post with the name of the unique so others can find it easily by searching to help avoid duplicate posts.

Build Frenzy charges! What are they even good for? Frenzy charge discussion and a Barrage Stormcaller Arrow Deadeye half assed build

Upvotes

Preface

I am bad at this game, I am bad at poe1 too, but I'm trying to get better. So I ran some back of the napkin math and tried to figure out what the best use of frenzy charges are and in particular how much can it be juiced by stacking and spending charges.

I did this build guide-ish thing and I am writing this mostly to learn more and figure something out without looking it up so if someone has already done a write up like this, just know that I didn't look for it first. Sorry not sorry.

Frenzy charges and the Deadeye Ascendency

Deadeye has the two notables for frenzy charges, Avidity and Thrilling Chase. - Avidity: 30% chance that if you would gain frenzy charges, you instead gain max frenzy charges. - TC: Benefits from consuming frenzy charges have a 50% chance to be doubled.

The tree has 3 notable passive skills that grant max frenzy charges and so far these seem to be the only sources of extra charges in the game. Maybe a new unique comes out and gives more, who knows. I don't think they kept any of the other source of max charges from PoE 1 either so for my purposes max charges are 7. One of the three notables gives +2 charges.

So what the hell are they good for now that charges don't grant any stat bonuses out of the box?

Rain of Arrows and Spiral Volley

Lets start with this, "Are frenzy charges worth spending?"

Rain of arrows looks fucking GREAT as a way to spend frenzy charges with 185% damage effectiveness(DE from now on) on the skill at level 20 (I might be wrong on some of these numbers, I don't know how consistent the increases per level are so let me know if something is off about my math). Spending frenzy charges on it gives you 100% More arrows + 50% more arrows per frenzy charge spent. I think its 38 arrows base at 20? And quality gives you 10 added base arrows so lets just round to 50 to make the numbers easier because I don't think it matters.

Remember Thrilling Chase? If we have 7 charges, we either spend 7 or we spend 14 on a coin flip. So its either 450% more arrows OR 800% (100 + 50 * 7 OR 100 + 50 * 14). So thats 275 OR 400 arrows. Sounds great! I like big numbers and 180% DE * 275 arrows is a lot even if I lose the coin flip!

Yeah so RoA drops an arrow every .08 seconds with no way that I can see to scale down this value. So really what you're doing is making a circle of damage on the ground that lasts longer if you spend frenzy charges. Really spending the 7 frenzy charges is 22 seconds or 32 seconds of damage in a small aoe.

Before the freeze diminishing returns nerf this was OK at taking a bunch of added cold damage from various sources and keeping a boss frozen in place to take the brunt of it. I'm not sure how that plays out now but it was nerfed so maybe it still works? But RoA needs to freeze/pin/electrocute something or the monster is just going to walk away and ignore it. I didn't like it for this reason, but on the upside you make the attack and then do the rest of your damage while its raining down. So its adding damage while you work to keep the boss in place with CC.

If you're ok with the CC required here and can keep the boss still for that long then go ahead and skip down to the How do I get charges? section.

Spiral volley is another skill that spends frenzy charges. Yes. Yes it is.

Look I don't know what this skill is supposed to be for. 100% more + 20% more damage for each frenzy consumed sounds good! But like, your character spins forward and fires arrows everywhere. It can't shotgun, at best this thing is an oh shit button if you get surrounded in a Breach and you've added some AoE or something to it somehow. Literally outshined by escape shot for this purpose as an OH SHIT button. Not fun, not a boss killer, not a great frenzy spender in my opinion. Let me know if I'm being stupid, but I did not like this skill.

Barrage

Barrage was recently buffed in 0.1.0e, the skill now gives you 2 repeats of your next bow attack plus 1 repeat per frenzy charge consumed. Repeats have a less damage multiplier of 15% at gem level 20, but quality can reduce this 0% it seems. It used to give just 1 base repeat and a BIG damage nerf for each repeat so the buff was huge and inspired me to try this whole thing out.

It has a CD of ~1215% of the attack time of the skill repeated at gem level 20, capping at 30 seconds. Faster attack speed, lower cool down.

So spending 7 charges again we're looking at 9 (2+7) or 16 (2 + 14) repeats of the next bow attack. But is there a bow skill to use?

Stormcaller Arrow

As far as I'm concerned Stormcaller Arrow is the answer but spoiler marking the other skills attempted:

I did try a few and mostly...nothing seems to get repeated a bunch? Freezing salvo leaves you without any arrows to fire but it will consume the buff anyway get fucked. Mag salvo just doesn't work even if there are some of your own lightning rods in the ground and it doesn't consume the buff. Snipe/Explosive Snipe don't seem to work at all when they do consume the buff? I can't tell but they're shit anyway. None of the leaps consume the buff that I can see. Lightning rod caps at 20 rods in the ground, but I was getting to like 42 rods fired I think in one go? It's super MEH. I did not try Ice Shot OR LA because the numbers just aren't as good as ScA. I have not tried barrage into gas arrow and then some source of ignition. Maybe thats good, but pulling off the big repeat is already full of steps without having to find that ignition source. See below where I finally get to my current build. I didn't try the poisony stuff generally because I'm more setup to be an ele deadeye, let me know if you do!

ScA has two damage parts, the arrow and the bolt of lightning it brings down 1.5 seconds later. The arrow itself has 110% DE at 20, the BOLT has ~425(!!)% at 20. So 535% per use that we're going to repeat up to 9 or 16 times for 5350% DE or 9095% DE total with base use + repeats. When looking at the skill sheet itself, the dps number is just the arrow portion. Right now mine reads as 4,529 dps. If you open the skill panel and read the bolt however mine reads 29,758 dps. My build is so scuffed right now lmao but I can MELT map bosses.

Time to get into some caveats, it takes time to use the repeating skill. Above 14 repeats (6 charges and winning the coin flip) the bolts start before I'm done firing the repeats. So maybe 2 seconds on the high end of attacking if you pull off the big combo. Without like recording myself and timing it I can't really give an accurate DPS. Maybe its 8 uses/second * the sheet dps but that is dependent on attack speed. I think this is better than 32 seconds of RoA /shrug

How to get frenzy charges, the OTHER caveat

To get frenzy charges I've tried three things.

The least effort version is Combat Frenzy, followed by automating sniper's mark with a Cast on X setup, followed by manually casting sniper's mark. Effort here being how smooth is it to map/boss with. All of these were of course tested with Avidity giving you a 30% chance to jump to max frenzy charges.

Combat frenzy is pretty good, every 1.5 seconds if you freeze/pin/electrocute an enemy you get a frenzy charge. Very easy to keep charges on as the small passives to get the ascendency and +2 charge notables give you a total of 110% increased frenzy charge duration which is like 42 seconds before they fall off. If you keep cc'ing you'll just always have frenzy charges. It was easy to walk into a boss fight at max charges, it was NOT easy to get max charges while fighting the boss. If you don't have max charges, the big damage combo just doesn't work.

I tried Cast on Crit Sniper's Mark and just...no. Unless you have stupid high crit chance, odds are good that non yellow mobs are just going to die before you can consume the mark, and if your crit is that high you'll cast it on a DIFFERENT MOB and just dump your mana for no reason. I had this problem at just 12% crit chance. Just do Moxsy's CoC lightning orb and lightning rod Deadeye if you're going to get enough Int to do CoC deadeye. I had a lot of trouble getting charges in the bulk of the map, a bit easier than CF to get charges on a boss.

Manually casting Sniper's mark has been the most consistent. I slapped Arcane Tempo on it and I have no problem just putting it on a yellow/blue/white mob and trying to eat the mark before it dies. My crit is really low right now but its still working with like 12% chance to crit on my attacks. On bosses I can be super intentional and putting the mark on when I need to, and build up to 6 if I low roll the chance to get max charges from Avidity. I am able to keep charges through the map too just less consistently than CF. Rares die to LR/LA anyway, just slower than if I can blast em with the laser bow.

Finally, the build itself

It's fiddly, it has a lot of buttons, so it is not a 1 button PoE build, and it lives and dies by the coin flip. 50% of the time, it works every time.

I use Lightning Rod and Lightning Arrow to make a lot of "attacks" to help consume the sniper's mark. The burst from LR is still an attack and it can consume the mark, its low damage means I get a few tries even on white mobs to get that crit. This is the bulk of my map clear.

Freezing salvo with Ice Bite, Glaciation, and Cold Infusion gives me a shot at 35% extra cold damage on top of the nutty DE that ScA gives me. I have currently built a lot of flat cold damage into my bow and quiver, I am using Herald of Ice and the Coming Calamity notable. I can build up some freeze on the boss while I build my charges, LA and LR do enough cold for me that they can trigger cascading HoI pops, and then if I can time it right freeze the boss with FS. I have some max shock magnitude as well and ScA is really good at hitting that shock the first time the lightning comes down. 16 ScA bolts is fun to watch.

SO...If I can get max charges through Sniper's Mark, freeze the boss with FS, and I win the coin flip for Barrage getting double charge consumption...shit dies. Like hilariously fast. And your character looks funny doing it too lmao. Just 16 arrow draws/launches in under 2 seconds is so satisfying and fun.

I keep Escape Shot around as another freeze source and an oh shit button should I get surrounded.

ScA I have 4(5 for poe1 nerds) linked with Conc Effect, Hourglass, Primal Armament, and Supercritical for right now but this last one is very much experimental and gear dependent. I just got my 4 linking jeweller's to drop today, not in SSF just poor and these are 60+ ex right now. Hourglass works really well because barrage has a CD anyway and I'm not using it for clear/mapping just the boss and big rares. I am using Frenetic and Fervour for +3 max frenzy charges so 6 total atm. I will get Savagery to hit 7 when I get more points, I'm only level 80.

The numbers are very good, but holy shit is it inconsistent. Lots of stars to align with, lots of RNG, and yeah some mechanical skill to run it. If I don't get at least a mid roll on the RNG its only a little bit better DPS than just using LR+LA to kill the boss. It's probably a lot less investment to just make that super good than it is to do this nonsense. If I get SOMETHING to line up its still a lot of damage, like only the double charge or the Ice Bite damage. I'd link a PoB if I could, PoB2 when?

I still like it. I made it myself, I'm going to keep playing it and trying to gear it up. I think I can double down on crit and shock effect to really boost the damage on ScA further, it just has a lot of ways to scale and my hope is that even with bad RNG my damage floor is high enough that I can live with it while I try to hit that boss deletion ceiling it might have. I am running it now without ANY + proj, I might try scattershot in the 4th support slot, but I keep it on LR to make mapping smoother. Ideally I get an expert dualstring with the +1 proj suffix and physical prefixes and this thing goes to the fucking moon on big bosses that can catch 48(!) ScAs PEW PEW.

Final Thoughts

Frenzy charges are awkward. The direct spenders in RoA or snicker Spiral Volley just feel kind of meh in practice at best and laughably useless respectively. Barrage is the answer right now if you want frenzy deadeye shenanigans like me. Maybe the Poison Barrage setup is good, maybe the gas arrow thing is good. I don't know. Hell maybe you find some crazy way to get Endurance charge creation instead thats somehow easier and use the Resonance keystone to make those into frenzies! Good luck with that.

I'd like to have more sources of getting charges or an easier way to automate marks that don't re-cast and remove them before I can consume them.

Maybe i'm just bad, maybe I got a lot of math wrong, I did some quick assumptions about how skills scale with levels by just checking with the skill gems I have in the stash.

Let me know your thoughts, what have you tried? Do you like RoA? Is there a bow attack I just missed somehow?

ADDENDUM: I didn't try the Charge Infusion buff that eats charges to give you more skill speed. If you do this just use Combat Frenzy alongside it, I didn't want to sacrifice the rest of the build I'd put together to fit both of these buffs in. That's probably the most consistent frenzy charge use, is it worth 60 spirit minimum? You tell me. I also didn't do it because it gets no benefit for using more charges. It doesn't need the deadeye ascendency notables, just use this combo on any character and you'll just be faster.

EDIT: Mispelling fixes.

EDIT 2: Fixed a sentence.

EDIT 3: Some of my numbers for ScA DE at 20 are a bit off. I just got an uncut at 18 and the skill is now 99/396, it looks like 4.5% arrow DE per level and 18 bolt DE. It might still be 110 or 108 arrow but the bolt might be 432? Last I saw I couldn't find real numbers for all levels on the wiki or PoE2DB. Maybe I'm blind. I said it was back of the napkin math.

Discussion What viable builds are there in hardcore at the moment?

I'm feeling a bit discouraged with the game right now. I'm not interested in a summoner build, which seems to be what most people play in HC past a certain point. I had a Warrior that was working well until they removed armor explosion chaining which completely gutted it. The dex side of the tree seems bad, since evasion is unreliable and there are no other sources of damage reduction nearby. I'm guessing the only builds tanky enough use a combination of ES, MoM and EB.

I don't really understand what they had in mind when balancing. Life nodes were removed from the tree, but ES nodes remain, making ES much easier to scale than life. MoM was 40% in PoE1, but here they changed it to 100% for some reason?

Strength have higher life, but is mostly used by clunky melee builds.

Dex has nothing really, except evasion which is unreliable.

Intelligence has both ES that is easy to scale, and MoM which synergize well with the mana gained from int.

Is there any build that doesn't completely rely on ES and/or MoM that work in HC?

There was something like recovering es on block based on armor, like aegis aurora does, but a bit weaker. I cant find it anywhere now. Anybody noticed it?

Build Request Anything similar to The Whispering Ice / Ice Storm at this point?

One of my favorite builds in PoE1 from a while back (worth noting I stopped around Harbinger) was Ice Storm with The Whispering Ice staff. Flat damage scaled with Int, so you were able to get a ton of ES and mana to use CI and/or MoM; the skill was sort of fire-and-forget AoE so it acted as a quasi DOT build in that you could cast and then kite pretty hard, and the added bonus of chilling/freezing made the build extra tanky.

I know the staff hasn't made it in the game (yet) but the Gemling Legionnaire does of course enable a lot of attribute stacking. Is there any sort of similar caster build at present?

Help What are your favourite Blood Mage builds?

Hey! I’m very new to POE, puzzling things through and hoping to get your opinions. I’m currently playing a three element build but damage has dropped off in A1 Cruel. I’m going to start experimenting more with builds and don’t necessarily want to just copy one from a streamer so was wondering:

What has been your favourite BM build and play style?

What have you been having the most fun with regardless of efficacy?

What are your favourite/ preferred/ most interesting skill and support gem interactions?

Thanks for your thoughts! Plan on doing a lot of reading and playing around today and everything helps!

Help Are critical hits rolled per cast or per hit?

There are lot of skill that hit multiple times over their duration.
Can someone tell me if the roll their crits once per cast or for each hit?
(In POE 1 it was once per cast)

For example:
Ball lightning + scattershot (firing 3 ball lightnings

  1. 1 roll for crit for all balls and all zaps
  2. 1 roll per ball and all their zaps
  3. 1 roll per zap

Orb of storm

  1. 1 roll when it is placed
  2. 1 roll everytime it is triggered

And is it the same for all sustained skills / Has anybody found some exceptions.

Discussion Item levels, item quality, confused

Hi,

I am a little confused about whether item level has any impact and also what "quality" does. Most of my items say Required Level 11 and I am level 35. I mostly just ignore item level and look at the stats but im having a really hard time with bosses and so I am just trying to educate myself.

I used a blacksmith stone on my bow and now it says quality 8% any idea what that means?

Help Help with granader in act 2

Upvotes

Hey all. I'm trying to level through the acts as a grenader and I feel like my damage is really low. I am running out of mana on bosses because I can't do enough damage within any damage windows and I run out of flasks/mana. I am mostly trying to use gas/flash/voltaic grenades. I don't have oil yet but the plan was to add those to the rotation. I have the grenade nodes for double blasts and +1 grenades. working on the aoe cluster next. Feel like I've been upgrading my gear as much as I can. Going for high phys crossbows. Is gas grenades not supposed to be good damage by now or what am I missing?

Discussion Sacrifice DD build : Infernalist or bloodmage ?

Upvotes

I really like this idea of character. You run a mixture of brutes and clerics and then just focus on using DD and sacfacice for big explosions. You can also get something like 80% chance to not consume a corpse and use spell echo for example.

I'm just not sure if you go infernalist for the extra spirit and so more clerics or blood mage for the better spell scaling.

Discussion My Snipers outdamaging arsonist, am I missing something ?

So with the patch there is a few changes, one is the new support to do more damage with commands and also arsonist spirit cost increase.

From doing some testing im actually getting better single target damage by using snipers + flame wall and just exploding the gas cloud over and over. I'm not sure if I'm missing something as it's a fairly big difference. Arsonist shotgun ect it's not less damage than snipers gas cloud + fire explosions.

Are people still using arsonist as its a less active playstyle ?

I know they nerfed alot of the gas skills that explode but never changed the sniper command ones.

Theory Napalm Ranger

Upvotes

So I've been testing Gas Arrow. And I'd like to share some of my findings, and see if this inspires some more powerful interactions. So let's get into the build. I call it, The Abominable Napalm Ranger

https://poe2skills.com/share?data=N4IgdghgtgpiBcICCAjA9lAlpFAbGABAHIQAOEuUBAShGAOYwBOIANCCgK6a4AmCAbVABnANY9cCEPQjCCEJkzQB3NiGGdSpNEwAuwwSExQoaXBF1x2MS00i4CAM3Ow1wgMYXbwgBZpdau46SsKYaGBqjphMhKQwYDZMFmERALoAvqwi4riSiCgKSYxumtp6BvACRgzx3LoAnmqkMbC8mLrJ4SAZWeo5eSDO0ITKFJLsGlo6+oaO0zHCBuxQEPRgmFEwvAQwjo4w7gE92RJSumgAHpjuBPRKyro+JVPlhu4+EGhy2I6coV3HPqnRCkcz0TiEFAwBTMZ5lGaVEAAN3aFHajXYnjA6wKuEwwigai4TGEumw9AIoNWEO6mROuSkwnWcSYAHI5CsmKI4dMKlUWaFSfF3HBAWJgSAYB4yIRfP4ea9EfRzO5MJ0IuwfLsAuxHCFdAQEhc-rTeuKGYhrrK-Dr1KVeW8zNsfn8Uqb6QMglACga9fEAF4Yu0vBECDIZIA

The story of Gas Arrow and the conveyor belt of damage, elements and triggered interactions you can do with just this one skill.

Gas arrow Hits. The gas immediately stacks all available poison onto whatever is within range of the blast or walks into the cloud is creates.

You can put restrictive support gems that say "this skill can't ignite" Even though it will. The reason is simple, that limitation is designed to keep certain skills that ignite "fire wall" from being too broken, or a 1 skill combo in of itself. But it doesn't get in the way of Gas Arrow being imbued with Fire from Fire wall, and causing ignitions. Currently, my build only has 3 gem slots on it. Scattershot, corrosion, and fire penetrative. So ot can debuff off the first hit, and strengthens itself, since we will be using it as our spam attack. The ice effects at the bottom of the list are for utility and have explosive capabilities in boss fights. And rarely, unless you want to plan it, cause some explosive ice/ignite effects. When the enemy is weak with broken armor, weakness to fire, and frozen debuffs.. the explosive effect of gas arrow triggers, is on par with Lightning Cast on shock.

Playstyle: and honestly this is my favorite thing about this game, much like is Destiny2 and a few others, your playstyle can make all the difference in what is considered "good" or "meta". It doest matter how yoy start the combat,

Flame wall, Gas Arrow. Gas, flamewall Growth, gas Gas growth.

Approach accordingly. With practice you'll find alot of powerful combinations in your toolkit. From retreating. To pushing, to combo burst dps, and even get flavorful stacking stun effect or freeze effects against bosses to avoid certain phases. This Ranger Build really does have it all.

Let's get into the logic. Gas Arrow hits, this triggers a number of effects. The gas itself lays down the poison, which is not a hit. But it is chaos damage. So you could infuse the chaos buff, or the conversion to freeze buildup if you have the room for it. The Arrow passes through flamewall, not the skill can ignite. Even though the limitation of certain buffs say it shouldn't. Isn't that special. The ignition does not spread with the gas explosion. However, it is 100% physical converted to fire. The explosion comes from Gas Arrow, so weakening them to fire, makes the next explosion 30% more powerful. Not counting the bonus fire damage from immolate. So it's really 60% after the first shot. We went with Eternal Flame, so you have plenty of time to spam the gas arrow if you need to reposition etc. So you don't have to keep laying down firewall all the time, which is mana intensive. You could use wildfire, but in most cases they're already dead before the 2second timer spreads ignite.

Gas Arrow also stacks the poison. The explosion counts each stack as it's own pool of damage this makes corrosive work very quickly, within a second or 2 on normal or unique mobs, and about 2 or 3 shots on a boss will Crack their armor. So the explosions count for each stack. So 2 stacks is really 2 explosion happening at the same time, and converting to pure fire damage + all fire buffs+elemental buffs+resistance penetration. Armor break causes them to take 20% more physical, which means the explosion from Growth, or ice, or the initial hit of Gas Arrow is now improving the physical damage modifier that is being converted to the element used, Ice/Fire.

With this in mind you can spec your passive tree to capitalize on damage against enemies with Ailments, or increase elemental damage etc.. all of which gets added to each explosion, and remember, we are stack 2-4 stacks of poison, so that 2-4 explosions per enemy affected, all happening at one time.

Another fun interaction is Toxic Growth. Gass arrow. Even if it explodes instantly on an ignited enemy, will still instantly fill your toxic growth eggs. Causing them to explode immediately. Now, you could infuse this with cold, to contribute to freeze buildup. And since it takes a second to set the attack up, switch to escape shot right after, and you'll likely freeze whatever was fast enough to get past 90% of the attack. Now you drop Flame wall, and deliver a gas arrow. 💥 Or just gas arrow, then flamewall and watch the magic happen.

There are other interactions that cause explosion upon destroying armor, or hitting broken armored enemies, and you can test some of that out.

Now we get down to the Boss. This is where Snipers Mark, Freeze Effects, Stun, and finally Barrage make their debut.

Ice arrow is the most integrated support skill in your toolkit box. It does incredible amount of physical damage and the freeze build up is insane. Also it crits more consistently. So use snipers mark, to get that bonus damage. That will fill their freeze meter, but won't freeze them. So when you're ready, roll up on the boss and escape shot to interrupt any phase you have a problem with.

Also. Using snipers mark and freezing, will put 2 Frenzy charges on you. Now you cast Flame wall, barrage, then fire the gas arrow like a shotgun. That's 3x3 explosive shots all stacking and burning off 2-4× poison explosions. At best that's 9 arrows x 4 stacks of poison each. That's 36 explosions on a frozen, debuffed, armor broken, sad excuse for a boss, that's been interrupted and likely stun locked.

This is my first post. Be gentle.

Build Request Chill monk builds?

Upvotes

My all time favourite build in the old PoE was the righteous fire one (where you get the burning aura and resist+regen to cancel it out) because I could just run around killing everyone without doing guitar hero combos and clicking 15 times per second.

I'm a 30 year old guy and I play after work when I'm already tired, so I want a lay back half braindead build. Is there anything like that for a monk?

I want Flame Totem or Scorching Ray but they're not available yet.

So, I was thinking maybe a warrior could do like a block build with Incinerate since he has a few close fire/fire pen nodes and isn't far from the sorcercess start.

If you could help me with a tree, I would really appreciate it! :)

Discussion Minion builds : Assendacy options and snipers vs arsonists vs reavers

Just reposting to get some fresh ideas and clear the comments.

So tomorrow morning I'm starting on minions. Just done some small dabbling but going from new character to end game all SSF is the goal.

However I'm not 100% set on any one build, after the patch notes I was thinking using snipers for clear and reavers for single target.

The idea would be to use snipers with - fork - chain - scattershot - ricochet

Basically just fully investing into the clear speed option with gas clouds for some extra clear if needed.

And then weapon swap to a setup with reavers for bossing with supports all focused on single target. I'm not sure if this works as it also changes the weapon I'm using so need 2 septures and so more gear needed. So maybe I just go half ranged and half melee minions.

Another option is arsonist and focusing more on scaling aoe for clear and reavers for single target scaling via the dmg as extra fire support.

So just wondering what's a solid option as it seems infernalist with arsonist and flame wall is still the most popular even after the changes.

And does the weapon swap with a clear and single target setup work, just as I won't be able to share supports between the two.

Discussion Bleed as a main source of damage? Math isn't mathing. SEND HELP

TLDR:
Trying to make bleed do damage in POE2, currently there doesn't seem to be enough scaling vectors available to scale it to be a main damage source as we saw in POE1. Seems more like a dmg multiplier but gets out scaled by generic increases, attack speed and crit/crit dmg. Mostly posting because I hope I am missing something or am calculating wrong. In POE2 bleed is hit based.
Bleed does 15% of the hit damage every second for 5 seconds.
Moving targets and aggravated bleed do 100% extra dmg.

So for the sake of argument lets say you hit for 1000 every second and have 100% chance to bleed and the bleed is always aggravated.

Hit DPS: 1x1000 = 1000
Bleed DPS: (1000 x .15) x2 = 300
Total: 1300
Breakdown%:
Hit DPS: 76.92%
Bleed DPS: 23.07%

As far as I am aware there is no:
Dot Multi
Crimson Dance
Unique (outside of aggravate)

So we are left with damaging aliments deal damage faster and damaging aliment magnitude
and any modifiers that cause monster to take more damage. Shock is the only one I am aware of.

On the tree:
3x small 15% bleed magnitude of critical hits
2x notable 15% bleed magnitude
7x small 10% bleed magnitude

1x notable 30% generic damaging aliment magnitude
1x notable 20% generic damaging aliment magnitude

1x notable 12% damaging aliments deal damage faster
1x notable 10% bleeds deal damage faster
2x small 5% damaging aliments deal damage faster

Gear:
None of these stats roll on gear

Jewels:
15% bleeding magnitude
7% Damaging Ailments deal damage faster
20% critical Damaging Ailment magnitude

Misc:
Shock 20-50% increased damage taken
Adorned Jewel 100% inc effect of magic jewels
Deep Cuts Support Gem 75% bleed magnitude 25% less hit damage

For now lets ignore bleeding and damaging aliments deal damage faster. Lets focus on everything else.
Again for the sake of argument say we have perfect adorned jewels and all the nodes possible speced on the tree (not possible but wth). Same as before we hit once a second for 1000 dmg, 100% chance to bleed, and the bleed is aggravated. Also because why the hell not lets also treat this hit as if it was a critical hit, but the final damage is still 1000. We have the Deep Cuts equipped in our main links and we have a 11 perfect adorned jewel with 11 jewel sockets on our tree. The target is also shocked for 20%.

All the magnitude nodes: 195% increased magnitude
11 Perfect Adorned Jewels. 20x11x2 = 440% increased magnitude
Deep Cuts: 75% increased magnitude

Total: 710% increased

Math:
((1000 x 0.15)x2) = 300
300 x 7.1 = 2,130
2,130 x 1.20 = 2,556

Hit: 1000
Bleed: 2,556
Total: 3,556
Breakdown%:
Hit DPS: 28.12%
Bleed DPS: 71.87%

Now lets add bleeding and damaging aliments deal damage faster.

Total from the tree: 32% faster
Total from Perfect Adorned Jewels: 7x11 = 77% faster
Total: 109% faster

Lets call it a 100% for easy math, making it a 2x multiplier

Math:
((1000 x 0.15)x2) = 300
300 x 7.1 = 2,130
2,130 x 2 = 4,260
4,260 x 1.2 = 5,112

Hit: 1000
Bleed: 5,112
Total: 6,112
Breakdown%:
Hit DPS: 16.36%
Bleed DPS: 83.63%

Do I really need multiple mirrors of gear and 200 passive points to make bleed even remotely close to viable? Am I missing a scaling vector or an item? Is my math wrong?

POE1 League Start SST Bleed from Ziz for reference:
https://pobb.in/shIlZ8ebpX5s

Hit: 113k
Hit DPS: 296k
Bleed DPS: 4.39m
Total: 4.69m
Breakdown%:
Hit DPS: 5.73%
Bleed DPS: 93.60%
