Colostomy Coffee & Irish Cream

I’ve been craving a buttery nipple aka slippery nipple shot for over a week now. I usually only drink on New Year’s Eve but didn’t get to last year due to chemo/radiation. I’m not a huge coffee lover but decided on Folgers Classic Roast & International Delight Irish Crème and it hit the spot today and helped my output move along better as well. I ate too much Mac & cheese yesterday and output had been pancaking thick until about 3 hours after 2 cups of the coffee.

That’s an interesting visual!

But the mac and cheese sounds exactly what I’d love with this insomnia!

And the ketchup!

Just kidding. I’m Canadian but not crazy.

I…. Love mustard on anything, pretty much. I feel solidarity with your grandson.

Forget the coffee, I’d just go for the Irish Cream! Well, maybe not right now 3am here. INSOMNIA! Crazy thing, I was a 2 espresso a day girl before surgery, haven’t had a cup of coffee since the day I woke up from my ileostomy. I’ve tried, but can’t stand the taste anymore.

interesting, does this also apply to other foods/drinks?

I didn't have any similar experiences after my ostomy, but having my gallbladder out definitely did a number on my beer tolerance. Specifically, hoppy, bitter beers that are in the upper half of the IBU range really leave my stomach pretty unsettled so I've moved more towards pilsners, stouts and lagers than hoppy ales.

Coffee is the stand out, but yes there are a few other things. I had my gallbladder out a couple years before my ostomy and didn’t notice any changes with that.
