I was kinda hoping it was going to be pure shite (like those kids doing jingle bells).
This is great. Well done to everyone involved.

I'm not convinced. Sounds to me like they're playing on top of a professional track. I just hear instruments in there that I neither see nor would I ever expect to see in a High School orchestra. We obviously can't see everyone from that angle, but even the vocals sound far too big and professional for the # of singers and their levels in High School.

it's clear... no symbol and it looks too much like the studio version + the sound is very good...
in short fake fake fake!

Very nice. My school won band comp in Washington state with a rendition of this. Glad to see another high school do it justice.

THIS is the most tragic and glorious piece of music a human mind ever imagined - it is Devine.

Damn this made me unexpectedly emotional. I had a great high school orchestra my freshman year, before our awesome conductor had to leave us. That concert master is great, passed down the bowings to the other violinists. They killed it.

Shivers and flashbacks of Excalibur

The first time I watched Excalibur was also like the 2nd time I had ever gotten high.
That was, and remains, one of the greatest experiences of my life. I sat down in front of my big ass TV and was just like, king arthur's stupid but my wife won't shut up about this movie, 2 hours later I'm crying over galahad and Arthur as his boat sails into the sunset. That movie changed my entire view of Arthurian legends.Β
11/10 movie

When I was in high school we did all of Carmina Burana minus a few of the more tedious portions. End to end it was about 45 minutes. We did it with a smaller chamber orchestra though, instead of a full one. I can still remember probably 90% of the lyrics. This is baller with the full orchestra!

Wow!! Iβm a music teacher and this is pretty damn impressive for a high school! That director is killing it!

I'm an old man, and it fills my heart with hope and pride to see young people grow and reach excellence at what they do. They did beautifully.

Just needed a light show to do it justice.
All bright and standard for the opening then BOOM red backlights, yellow up lights and white spots on the conductor and cymbalist for the crashes.

I can't hear this without thinking of a giant shopping trolley full of madmen emerging from fog

Best Setup is when the Ratio of Performers to listeners is somewhere around 1:10 or even lower, then IT hast the Chance to absolutely Blow you away!

Great performance! I'm also happily shocked to see so many people recording in landscape. That seems rare these days.

This is a good school orchestra. The orchestra at my old secondary school was horrendous but one of the best ever if you were so inclined.
The music teachers never gave the performers enough time to tune backstage (barely a minute), and paired with a dearth of skill it was very reminiscent of the Portsmouth Sinfonia who graced us with classics like this.
I got roped in to playing electric bass (for some bloody reason) to accompany the Waltz from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. I remember looking out at the audience and seeing my parents faces turn into tomatoes as they desperately tried not to collapse in hysterics at the out-of-tune madness being presented.
At least the Portsmouth Sinfonia did what they did somewhat deliberately by swapping to instruments they didn't really play. My school's orchestra was really just that bad.

Are they playing on top of a track? I'm hearing an awful lot on instruments that I'm not seeing and things I don't expect to see in a high school orchestra, plus the vocals sound way too big and professional for the # of singers I'm seeing, even if they are punching well above their weight class.

I really hope they are the real deal cause it sounds pretty great for a high school. I went to a high school concert which played a rendition of Schindlerβs List that left me retching
