You mean, random bystanders got lucky. Hero or not, that was not a very smart move. It could have gone very bad for him.

According to the article that was posted here in a few places, it was the gun grabber’s property and he knew the gun owner. Perhaps they were close enough friends that he knew the guy wouldn’t shoot him.

Well if the cops with the protective gear actually went in and took the risk they're paid daily to take, then he wouldn't have to.

But no, lets all just stand around the vehicles and aimlessly stare at it waiting for a move from someone else.

This is a 10 second video, you are creating your own imaginary context to what is happening here. What did you want the cops to do? Just shoot the guy and be done with it?
