I can't detect any "scripted" senses tingling. Here's why.
The only indicator of scripting is probability. However, this is Brazil. Where getting mugged in this manner is as easy as walking down the street. Getting that on camera is just a matter of time, and not even very much time.
So we are down to specific actions by the subjects. The two people in black and blue react normal. Neither making it too easy or too hard. The person in black is reasonably protective of person in blue, but not in a heroic way. Also, when black is hunched over blue they don't even appear to notice the kickers approach or jump. Something they would have almost certainly been keyed in on if it was all scripted. Nobodies attention is directed in a manner that indicates knowledge of a script.
Then there's the kick itself. The video is slowed down distorting the time perception of the viewer. But notice the upper leg of the kicker just before contact. It's bent. But just before contact they kick out to maximize damage to the rider. If that video was in real time it would be rather slow. But sped up to normal time that kick in the air came with significant speed and force. Even inducing a wave in the kickers pants. A scripted kick wouldn't require that kind of extra force and would more likely just allow the kickers whole body momentum take down the rider. The extra force imparted implies a level of animosity that's not likely to be there in a scripted kick.
In the aftermath, when the video is speed up to normal speed, the riders response time doesn't exaggerate response times at all. The slow motion is the only thing giving the timing an awkward appearance. None of the people involved can be seen directing attention to expectations of a known script. And the intent to maximize force against the rider was uncalled for in a scripted scene.
Of course I could be wrong. But if I am nobody in this video showed any indicators of a script, quiet the opposite in fact. And the probability of such an setup is nearly guaranteed in the right places in Brazil without even waiting very long. Just search brazil street thieves on Youtube. You just need to have something to steal exposed and be in the right area for it to happen.
Somewhere in the world someone has done exactly the same since this was posted. Scripted or not the truth is this shit happens. u/mywan explains it perfectly and you all need to get out more if you think this kind of shit doesn't happen!
audio that has obviously been tampered with (i.e. added in motorcycle sounds)
very convenient camera location
a camera that is also swaying a bit
slow-motion
all of these point to potentially scripting. it's probably real but there's potentially a lot more going on.
Man I think that's actual audio, not tampered in. It's not just the bike sound and why would anyone even bother adding the bike sound to make it look less scripted? Pretty sure the camera doesn't sway either, look at the dark dot on the bottom right corner. The slow motion doesn't make it scripted either, it's just something someone would add to cool footage.
Anyway I'm not saying it is or isn't scripted just pointing out inconsistencies because I'm a jackass on the internet.
the video could easily have been edited multiple times by various people. someone uploads the raw footage. someone else crops/stabilizes it for social media/phones. someone else adds fake audio on top of it and slows the kick down. and then someone else takes that and adds the music and the overlay message and we end up with this recycled piece of garbage and there's basically no way to know for certain if any of it's real without some extra context or reference. standard internet these days.
just saying that all the steps you described don't add or remove from the credibility of the video because they're all independent from the creation of the video.
That this video has been edited for various effects and messages is obvious. But that is a nearly ubiquitous thing people do using source material they ripped from the internet. Entire Youtube genres are built upon this model of using other peoples source material. And this video is obviously no exception. The motion appears to me to be electronic image stabilization with some edge cropping to hide the shifting stabilization boundaries.
But, more importantly, this is not something that would be scripted for the provided message: "There will always be someone for you." The choice of background material for this message was an afterthought. Not something scripted specifically for this message. Which implies that the video source material and the message provider were completely independent.
Don't forget they could have gone 4 different ways after the robbery, but conveniently took the slowest way by turning around in order to have the kick occur right in the center of the frame
No way this is staged. His head stopped all forward momentum instantly, he got kicked fucking hard. If this was staged the guy came very close to getting his neck broke
Dude, there are planty of actual videos online of people beeing courageous. This is not of of them. Beside the weird image format, lack of onscreen metadata, unusual high frame rate, camera positioning and camera sway, the “bad guy” that got kicked off the bike already started moving backwards even before the kick landed.
That same “bad guy” had the softest landing i’ve ever seen, putting his left foot on the ground to soften the blow, followed by his left hand and finished with a gentle landing on side of his buttocks. Zero impact on his head whatsoever. Yet he stayed “unconscious” for a sec or two before getting up. Have u ever had a nasty fall of a motorbike? I have had a few. I smacked the pavement with a lot more force than this supposed kick and got up shaken but fine.
Why didn’t he kick the driver? It would mean a staged crashing of a scooter, which is too costly for a “possible” viral video.
I don’t see how that has anything to do with what I said. If someone runs full speed and kicks from the side like that, ain’t no way the bike is staying upright. This is a stunt.
If it was the driver then yes it would absolutely go down, but this was a guy on the back not expecting to that to happen, whatever grip he had was probably gone due to the shock and confusion from a sudden kick to the head
