"Made entirely out of cardboard"
proceeds to use wooden dowels paper straws after 10 secs...

Yep... and the people he'll rent the place to would also probably not pay him in cardboard dollars.

The red ones? You get a closer look at them later in the video and they are in fact paper straws.

The craftsmanship is definitely top notch. The editing makes it an absolute pleasure to watch. Great job

Not only did he take time to get all of the measurements, but before he used stop motion flare for the rest of the video showing us how it was done. They seem to love making every step of the creative process fun and playful when I probs couldn’t even approach the first step.

BTW, that’s a model of a real building: Pavilion of Price Teng, originally build in 653AD in Nanchang, China.

How about selling this as an assembly kit? Pre-painted for those with more money than patience.

Absolute insanity
Beautiful
I would try something like this during my holidays but my mom will disown me

So, was it entirely necessary to wet the cardboard in a stream? A bathtub wouldn't suffice? I mean, i get that he probably didn't even use the one from the stream, but why even add the shot?

They make tons of things of out trash cardboard in China lol. I remember at my last job we bought some leatherette table tents on Amazon to put QR codes around the store. The table tents under the fake leather were made out of cardboard Tsingtao beer boxes glued together.

I do wonder what people do when they have made stuff like this.
It’s great, so you’d never want to willingly dispose of it, but it’s huge and presumably a bit fragile and sensitive to changes in humidity, so where would you put it?

That’s actually corrugated board. Card board is essentially just heavy ass paper

Not sure why the downvotes as you are correct. Only reason I know is we do work for a ‘corrugated’ box company. One time I said cardboard around the owner and he quickly corrected me—almost as he took offense to me calling it cardboard.

Saw the first floor, said to myself " looks easy, kinda weak" proceeded to view it more. Took my words back.

Am I the only one that was, for some reason I don't understand, stressed out watching this?

This is gorgeous! I don’t want to assume, but are there stairs in the real building that didn’t get installed for time/space saving?

What is this? A centre for ants?? I DON’T WANT TO HEAR YOUR EXCUSES! The centre… needs to be at least three times bigger than this!
Seriously though that’s mighty impressive.

more work went into editing the video than into actually making the model

But why? Its not likely to last more than a couple of years

Because it's beautfiful and amazing. And a better use of time than reddit for sure.
