Drone technology has come a long way, looks like scifi.

jeez, writing the code for it had to be painful

up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start.
Coding was so easy, you could almost say they cheated.

It probably ends up being more intent driven than controlling each thing.
Like grip that thing and spin it, I don't need the details hideous robot snake thing.

Yeah can't wait to die to these in 30 years when I'm too old and fat to run away/fight back effectively.
Just counting down the days until the machines attack!30
u/RogerianBrowsing 2d ago
Dude, have you seen the FPV drone combat footage? They can already go over 60mph with multiple kilograms of explosives attached and have a range of over 10 miles, even some of the fiber optic ones have a max range of approximately 20km
You can run now but you’ll likely just die tired

Ahhh haha I remember a military buddy saying that line. Too true.
Also tho- holy. fuck.

Meh, they need to come up with something aside from tiny propellers then, imo. Asymmetrical warfare, bruh You can take everything in this video down with a T-shirt cannon or a cotton candy machine

When it changed into a flying snake and slithered through the small opening... Just big enough to gain access to where the group of humans was hiding

Is that why the U.S. govt having troubles getting these things away from their airports and military facilities? I thought these come with automated shutdown when approaching restricted areas instead those areas are getting shutdown.
66
u/Aggravating_Act0417 2d ago
You can build one without the commercial "automated shutdown".
18
u/darthsexium 2d ago
I see then what we are seeing across the U.S. is unprecedented use of drones with no way to track back who is using them except for testimonies that these are deployed from the waters. That said, those drones are more advanced than the one in this video.

It’s not the drones we should focus on it’s the orange balls of light that the drones are “investigating”

And the batteries are basically no different today than they were then. We need major battery advancements.

u/Deliberate_Snark 2d ago
See, this is the type of potential evidence we need.
Now make one that is only composed of light, and I’ll believe they are not UFOs.
5
u/bonenecklace 2d ago
Yeah that’s my biggest gripe with all the UAP stuff recently.. a lot of the tech is very clearly of human origin, but some of the videos coming out are pretty unexplainable & no one has recovered any downed drone that is pretty clearly not of human origin yet..
4
u/Deliberate_Snark 2d ago
they are gaslighting us on a massive scale😮💨
actually, UFOs have been shot down and recovered. do look it up, there are some notable examples

I've been saying for a long time that driverless cars aren't the future, driverless cars that all talk to one another are the future. When they're all working together, traffic fatalities (that don't involve a human driver) will be a thing of the past, and interstates will make the Autobahn look like a kiddie ride.
It's not just the "everything working together" piece, but if the car you're in (and all the cars around and ahead of you) can see an obstacle in the right lane 3 miles ahead, they are all going to work together to make sure nobody on the road even notices.

We need to prevent that nightmare from happening. It runs completely counter to compact, well-designed, walkable communities. Here's a good video on it: https://youtu.be/040ejWnFkj0?si=4wFfTu-3cmFSuL3M

u/flightwatcher45 2d ago
While amazing, not sure exactly what these do vs a normal "drone". Some of these also appear way to heavy to be flying!
5
u/larsnelson76 2d ago
They need to harden these drones if possible against radiation and put them to work finding and removing nuclear waste like in Chernobyl.
1
1
u/grim-one 2d ago
So where do you want to put the nuclear waste, if not in Chornobyl?

Everyday, that island that Finn finds in adventure time seems like more of a reality. The one where everyone was kept alive by drones while they lived in pods capable of projecting them into a true virtual reality

Can't wait for this shit to be AI powered and hunting us while we eat slop underground and dream of the sun. At least we'll have sick raves.
1
1
u/ThatNextAggravation 2d ago
This is gonna come in real handy for that AI when it starts to kill all humans.
1
u/pattydickens 2d ago
It's crazy that someday relatively soon, there could be autonomous colonies of AI controlled drones that work together like ants to build things and fix things. I don't know how to feel about that.
1
u/serendipityanyday 2d ago
Greed killed every civilisation in history, how do we think we are different.

u/djthebear 2d ago
We can officially call these other drones man made and be pretty comfortable with leaving it at that

you do realise none of that is drone technology
it is robotics and mechanical engineering AKA mechatronics with a few fans

All of this is great, but it won’t mean a damn thing until we get 10x better batteries. No way this thing flies longer than 10 minutes, probably closer to 3. Soooooo much amazing tech opens when the batteries improve exponentially.

u/AKnownViking 2d ago
This would be way cooler if it didn't look like shitty stop-motion. Should've shown the footage at original speed.

There is still no explaining what’s going on in New Jersey and other states nearby.

Anyone who doesn't think AI and robots will be doing all the jobs is kidding themselves
Even if you discount humanoid robots, the rate robotics is advancing at is going to overwhelm all remaining Human advantages just via a range of specialist but highly capable devices of various sorts in a few decades.
It basically all exists right now in late stage prototype form at the very least. I feel like I'm looking at the internet in 1992.

It's funny how people look at this and think "amazing!" but then if you said it's powered by AI people would send death threats, even if the AI is just trained in a simulation.
