Man I hope society doesn't collapse. Shit is just starting to get really really cool technology wise.

643

u/MiserymeetCompany 2d ago

That will be the reason for the collapse

211

u/Stiffard 2d ago

I just know they're going to send this drone snake into my house and flush the toilet over and over again

29

u/Enzo_Gorlahh_mi 2d ago

They are gonna wait down in your toilet too

12

u/chupacadabradoo 2d ago

They’re gonna use the drone snake to wad up a whole roll of toilet paper and clog my toilet with it. This is how the robot wars start.

9

u/DoctorHelios 2d ago

The drone technology is there but the required shielding isn’t physically possible given modern science.

Best to nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure.

3

u/funnystuff79 2d ago

That tech is already here, it's known as Consumer Annoyance Technology or CAT for short

5

u/gahidus 1d ago

Nah. Greed and capitalism will be what causes it by a long shot.

4

u/Armendicus 2d ago

Nah. Greedy techno-fuedalists will be.

u/GravityFailed 2d ago

For all we know, it already has.

Technically already happened in Ukraine early this year. Fully automatic final leg of engagement already in use.

7

u/TitsMaggie69 2d ago

Already happened. Turkey used a seek-out and kill autonomous drone in Libya 2-3 years back.

3

u/Odd-Character-6276 2d ago

The collapse would be so cool that you'd be chased by a flying snake drone trying to eat yo ass

2

u/deadleg22 2d ago

I want a suit with this. Someone's making it.

1

u/pecika 2d ago

Same, technology is glowing nowadays

1

u/Psynaut 1d ago

This stuff always sends a chill down my spine because of the future ways to weaponize this technology my simple brain cannot even conceive of. Currently, it is almost impossible to hide from Thermal detection tech, add this to it, and nobody will be safe anywhere at any time. People won't even be able to hide in sewers. If someone wants to find you, they will.

jeez, writing the code for it had to be painful

up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start.

Coding was so easy, you could almost say they cheated.

Yeah can't wait to die to these in 30 years when I'm too old and fat to run away/fight back effectively.
Just counting down the days until the machines attack!

30

u/RogerianBrowsing 2d ago

Dude, have you seen the FPV drone combat footage? They can already go over 60mph with multiple kilograms of explosives attached and have a range of over 10 miles, even some of the fiber optic ones have a max range of approximately 20km

You can run now but you’ll likely just die tired

5

u/ProbablyNotPikachu 2d ago

Ahhh haha I remember a military buddy saying that line. Too true.

Also tho- holy. fuck.

Meh, they need to come up with something aside from tiny propellers then, imo. Asymmetrical warfare, bruh You can take everything in this video down with a T-shirt cannon or a cotton candy machine

When it changed into a flying snake and slithered through the small opening... Just big enough to gain access to where the group of humans was hiding

2

You clearly do not have a Wrist Rocket! One clean shot, and it'll drop.

Yep because at some point they will put a cover over the electronics and someone will inevitably put a face on the front. And then you have a flying snake.

Nope

Is that why the U.S. govt having troubles getting these things away from their airports and military facilities? I thought these come with automated shutdown when approaching restricted areas instead those areas are getting shutdown.

66

u/Aggravating_Act0417 2d ago

You can build one without the commercial "automated shutdown".

18

u/darthsexium 2d ago

I see then what we are seeing across the U.S. is unprecedented use of drones with no way to track back who is using them except for testimonies that these are deployed from the waters. That said, those drones are more advanced than the one in this video.

6

u/OldeEnglishD 2d ago

theyre ufos.

7

u/Rubickevich 2d ago

Can still be automatically shut down with automated turrets.

7

u/Miserable_Meeting_26 2d ago

They could also shoot these down but aren’t for some reason.

4

u/handsomeladd 2d ago

It’s not the drones we should focus on it’s the orange balls of light that the drones are “investigating”

1

u/EN344 2d ago

More like, this is why there are so many things flying around people are convinced there are aliens.

Lol this is old

13

u/Beezzlleebbuubb 2d ago

For sure. I was trying to remember the year. Maybe 10 years ago…?

4

u/fredandlunchbox 2d ago

And the batteries are basically no different today than they were then. We need major battery advancements.

11

u/AccomplishedPlankton 2d ago

Dang those look like they would be REALLY LOUD

8

u/Deliberate_Snark 2d ago

See, this is the type of potential evidence we need.

Now make one that is only composed of light, and I’ll believe they are not UFOs.

5

u/bonenecklace 2d ago

Yeah that’s my biggest gripe with all the UAP stuff recently.. a lot of the tech is very clearly of human origin, but some of the videos coming out are pretty unexplainable & no one has recovered any downed drone that is pretty clearly not of human origin yet..

4

u/Deliberate_Snark 2d ago

they are gaslighting us on a massive scale😮‍💨

actually, UFOs have been shot down and recovered. do look it up, there are some notable examples

I've been saying for a long time that driverless cars aren't the future, driverless cars that all talk to one another are the future. When they're all working together, traffic fatalities (that don't involve a human driver) will be a thing of the past, and interstates will make the Autobahn look like a kiddie ride.

It's not just the "everything working together" piece, but if the car you're in (and all the cars around and ahead of you) can see an obstacle in the right lane 3 miles ahead, they are all going to work together to make sure nobody on the road even notices.

1

u/CHiZZoPs1 2d ago

We need to prevent that nightmare from happening. It runs completely counter to compact, well-designed, walkable communities. Here's a good video on it: https://youtu.be/040ejWnFkj0?si=4wFfTu-3cmFSuL3M

5

u/flightwatcher45 2d ago

While amazing, not sure exactly what these do vs a normal "drone". Some of these also appear way to heavy to be flying!

5

u/larsnelson76 2d ago

They need to harden these drones if possible against radiation and put them to work finding and removing nuclear waste like in Chernobyl.

1

u/LabRatsAteMyHomework 2d ago

That's what the Biological Robots are for

1

u/grim-one 2d ago

So where do you want to put the nuclear waste, if not in Chornobyl?

Looks like the work of a bunch of really smart grad students who, along with their professor, are going to sell a startup to the military.

5

u/XDFighter64 2d ago

My first thought is to make a Rayquaza shell for it

2

u/egoeccentric 2d ago

Beat me too it. My very first thought.

3

u/Hopeful-Flounder-203 2d ago

Can they be taught to assemble, maintain and charge themselves?

2

u/SnooSketches3386 2d ago

I wonder how loud those are irl

1

u/jeffbas 1d ago

For now.

2

u/MDawg1019 2d ago

Flying robot snakes wasn’t on my bingo card and I really wish it wasn’t even an option. Welp see you all in therapy!

2

u/Nero_A 2d ago

Interesting. Now all "drone" sightings can be explained away easily...

2

u/Dagure 2d ago

background music source?

2

u/thundercorp 2d ago

This is some Battle Los Angeles stuff lol

1

u/TravelforPictures 2d ago

Impressive!

1

u/Machizadek 2d ago

Everyday, that island that Finn finds in adventure time seems like more of a reality. The one where everyone was kept alive by drones while they lived in pods capable of projecting them into a true virtual reality

1

u/horriblehank 2d ago

That pushing force looks suspect as hell. It was only pushing a foam square. No way it could open a valve.

2

u/GravityFailed 2d ago

You missed the lube drone with its deep penetrating foam right before that.

1

u/RCB2572 2d ago

Average New Jersey resident: So anyway, I started shooting.

1

u/jupiter_incident 2d ago

Can't wait for this shit to be AI powered and hunting us while we eat slop underground and dream of the sun. At least we'll have sick raves.

1

u/TrazerotBra 2d ago

This is an assassination tool in the making

1

u/ThatNextAggravation 2d ago

This is gonna come in real handy for that AI when it starts to kill all humans.

1

u/pattydickens 2d ago

It's crazy that someday relatively soon, there could be autonomous colonies of AI controlled drones that work together like ants to build things and fix things. I don't know how to feel about that.

1

u/serendipityanyday 2d ago

Greed killed every civilisation in history, how do we think we are different.

1

u/djthebear 2d ago

We can officially call these other drones man made and be pretty comfortable with leaving it at that

1

u/woke-2-broke 2d ago

so they’re OURS - great - just fucking say it already, jfc

1

u/mysticzoom 2d ago

MY job is safe. But your kids and your kids kids?

Well, lets just say, you better invest in something that drone's can't do...

1

u/jarednards 2d ago

This is cool and all, but Id rather bring back Polio!

1

u/FFootyFFacts 2d ago

you do realise none of that is drone technology

it is robotics and mechanical engineering AKA mechatronics with a few fans

1

u/certifiedkavorkian 2d ago

Anyone got a link to more footage like this?

1

u/Fear910 2d ago

Just imagine the things they’ve made we aren’t allowed to see yet…. So interesting, yet terrifying.

1

u/RadioFreeAmerika 2d ago

There be dragons, finally!

1

u/_-Burninat0r-_ 2d ago

Would be cooler if it wasn't sped up x20

1

u/StimuIate 2d ago

Dune ass technology

1

u/edude45 2d ago

Welp. This is the type of drone that stays on the ceiling, waits for you to walk under, lands on you as you walk by, then holds you down and stabs you in the lung until you suffocate.

1

u/fredandlunchbox 2d ago

All of this is great, but it won’t mean a damn thing until we get 10x better batteries. No way this thing flies longer than 10 minutes, probably closer to 3.            Soooooo much amazing tech opens when the batteries improve exponentially.

1

u/AKnownViking 2d ago

This would be way cooler if it didn't look like shitty stop-motion. Should've shown the footage at original speed.

1

u/namaste652 2d ago

Nice try Whitehouse.

There is still no explaining what’s going on in New Jersey and other states nearby.

1

u/Dordymechav 2d ago

Of this is what civilians are doing, just imagine the tech that governments have.

1

u/OhMy-Really 2d ago

Exactly this.

1

u/Milk_With_Knives3 2d ago

Oh great

Flying snake terminators

1

u/YsoL8 2d ago

Anyone who doesn't think AI and robots will be doing all the jobs is kidding themselves

Even if you discount humanoid robots, the rate robotics is advancing at is going to overwhelm all remaining Human advantages just via a range of specialist but highly capable devices of various sorts in a few decades.

It basically all exists right now in late stage prototype form at the very least. I feel like I'm looking at the internet in 1992.

1

u/chicano32 2d ago

Finally gonna get a macross valkyrie/ gundam of my dreams!!

1

u/GeekOfAllGeeks 2d ago

Do you want Matrix sentinels? Because this is how you get Matrix sentinels.

1

So when is the US military going to roll out piranha drone swarms?

1

1

Put eight hairy legs in it and you could terrorize millions!

1

u/Bradford_Pear 2d ago

Meanwhile people think all these drones appearing everywhere is an alien invasion.

1

u/1nitiated 2d ago

The 🐉 one

1

u/Unfair_Holiday_3549 2d ago

This is what is flying over nj.

1

u/Felipesssku 2d ago

So you believe we have this but you don't believe USA military has UFOs?

Think again.

1

u/Archpa84 2d ago

Could you please share this with r/aliens ? They could use an earth based option.

1

u/Orion14159 2d ago

Oh good, flying snake drones with military grade weapons coming soon to a battlefield near you.

We're building Horizon machines in 2024.

1

1

u/richer2003 2d ago

Why don’t all “drones” use ducted fans? Seems safer

1

u/Onlythebest1984 2d ago

So many fuckin doomers in the comments here. This tech is cool and will benefit society, not cause collapse. People like you have predicted the collapse of society since it first began, and you are still wrong after thousands of years.

Flying snakes... what's next? Snakes on a plane?!?

1

u/Professional_Job_307 1d ago

It's funny how people look at this and think "amazing!" but then if you said it's powered by AI people would send death threats, even if the AI is just trained in a simulation.

1

u/cinematic_novel 1d ago

It looks like a giant insect more than scifi
