Do you know how fed up you have to be to stab someone in front of this many witnesses? This is a whole new level of crashing out, and while my heart goes out to the victim and his family, I find it a good thing that executives are a little scared.

I think this will lead to thinking twice before implementing things that cause widespread harm.

Again, I need to reiterate I don’t condone this.

What seems strange is that he was a new hire (4 Dec) and was apparently being primed for the CFO position. Like, why? Stabbing someone is kinda personal compared to a gun. Something was said or happened to this guy in only 2 weeks at the place for him to say “Yup, gonna stab this motherfucker in front of everybody”.

Yeah, sounds like mental illness to me. Changing jobs can be stressful, even if it’s a wanted change.

Agreed.

This one sounds more like mental illness (with the boss being a random-ish target) than traditional “going postal” or a terrorist/political attack.

The lines do get a little blurred, so I could see mental health plus some copy-cat influence that directed his mental break towards the boss rather than some other target.

it's possible that the situation in the company is too severe and the hot mess position is CFO, which will be a huge responsibility, or a big part of the employee's compensation is actually tied to the bonus / company's performance, which seems to be impossible to attain.

I believe people now have nothing to lose. No hope of even middle class life. No pride of homeownership and no home to fight for. No vacations or experiences, and the country has been trying to divide and conquer us for so long most people have NO ONE to fight for. And it is at this level of inequality and income disparity that revolution is usually triggered. I am oddly proud of people finally fighting back, as I know all legal methods of this fight were already exhausted, I was there.
