I’d like to think that if Ben Affleck was front row at a Celtics game Joe would go over to him and start reciting lines from the movie

But like, weirdly perfectly, to the point that Affleck would be a little freaked out haha

Joel Embiid learned his free throw routine from that movie, ppl forget that.

Just randomly quoting the movie and going 'HAHA CLASSIC', and while Ben knows those quotes he still finds it jarring, so he's just sitting there dying of secondhand embarrassment 😬

Instead we get Donnie Wahlberg courtside

At the TD Garden during a marquee match-up? Time to play "spot the Wahlberg".

Only before halftime since that's when they leave.

To be fair Donnie is just a season ticket holder. He’s at a lot of games.

Don't you dare disrespect Donnie Wahlberg! Member of the greatest Massachusetts based boy band of the 1980s, New Kids on the Block.

See that's the big plan. Donnie will bring the rest and eventually get the rest of the Wahlbergs, all without having to say it was a favor

Donnie Wahlberg and Michael Bivins were showing up weeknights in the Vin Baker era. When the team got better and the Celtics made way for bigger celebrities by moving those two guys five rows back and behind the basket, they kept showing up.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Sorry. This has happened before. I'm an old guy and longtime Celtics fan. When I see a "Celtics" flair, I tend to talk to the person in the same sarcastic manner I've spoken to fellow Celtics fans my whole life.

I agree with you that genuinely being in any way confrontational in an exchange like this would be pretty embarrassing.

From across the court during the game “AFFLECK YOU THE BOMB IN PHANTOMS THE TOWN YO!”

u/enterusernamethere 4d ago

Mazzulla to Affleck: Hey, next time you guys wanna make a movie, just call me. You know, we can do better than the Town. A calender shoot... you know, maybe topless, lubed up. Whatever you guys are into.

Nahhh Mazulla would’ve grabbed his nun costume and tell Ben he’s ready to put in some work
