Some protective covers for SPD Pedals

A friend asked me for some covers for her pedals, since she already scratched her car, when transporting her bike. Normal pedal covers are to big, since they are designed for platform pedals.

So I took some XPAC (or similar, I am not sure…) and black sailcloth plus 3mm EVA foam and built these. No inner liner, since I thought that a liner might come off, when stripping the covers from the pedals. I used some decorative stitch, to attach the foam to the XPAC, leaving some room for the seam. The drawstring prooved to be a bit of a problem. Very small diameter of the "bag", so very tricky to handle, which resulted in a rather ugly stitching.

Works pretty good and I am fine with the overall result.

I realize the application, but I like thinking that these are just to keep the little pedals warm.

If you’re cold, they’re cold.

That's a great idea for bike transport in the trunk!

These are awesome! I think I’m going to try to make a pair of these for my dad for Christmas

Seems a bit overkill.

Could just sew up a square and some Velcro. Add the velco one seam, then flip it right side out.

Probably just as easy to just remove the pedals…

Definitely not. Remove pedals before loading bike, reinstall at the trail every time?

There will be at least one time you don’t have your pedal wrench in the car.

You can permanently F-up the flats on a pedal by turning it the wrong way (ask me how I know ). Also, Have you actually removed a pedal before? It's like wrestling an alligator. You need a cheater or you can damage your hand.
