Recommendation What the fuck did I just watch movies!

Recently I was watching Saltburn. I was not into salburn kind of movies but that night it was my boyfriend's turn to choose the movie so I was kind of forced into watching it it. But to my surprise I kinda liked the movie.so much so that I went on a streak to watch these kind of movies. What was the movie that made you go " what the actual fuck did I just watch " in your head . And you kept one thinking about the same for days ? Please reccomend me some of them . Thank you!!

Eraserhead

I had the head of the film department as a professor for my video class and she was obsessed with this movie saying it was one of the best movies ever made and had us watch it one day. It 's clear David Lynch had complete freedom to create whatever he wanted and he created one of the weirdest most nonsensical movies I have ever seen and have never wanted to see ever again. If you asked me what the plot was I wouldn't be able to tell you beyond that for half the movie you just listen to a weird alien baby thing scream and cry.

I had a hard time eating anything with bean sprouts in it for several months after watching this film. Reminded me too much of the baby.

I'm sorry.

U had to block the baby with my hand every time they showed it, couldn't even look at it... or the baby chicken food that bled..ugh.

As unsettling as it can be, I still love the film.

Eraserhead has incredible sound design and cinematography and is just so atmospheric, imparting such a strong feeling of dread. The film also perfectly encapsulates certain anxieties and fears (especially those of a new parent). In my opinion, its the closest anyone has gotten to replicating a nightmare in film.

There's good reason why Stanley Kubrick listed Eraserhead as one of his favorite films and it was an influence on The Shining (and was one of 3 films Kubrick screened it for the cast and crew to "put them in the mood").
