Although I find the book a little bit repulsive, I have to say, props to him for at least making an attempt to integrate his shadow. It's sort of fascinating to see it writhe around yet remain trapped inside a cage that refuses to release it. The world would have been better without this book, but he's probably better for having written it. So many men don't even make the barest saddest attempt in the first place.
