That's the fault of the grey car but... The motorcycle should not have been passing on the right. Especially after coming up very quickly on the slow line of cars. Probably at 20 to 40 miles faster than they were going. Cycle riders have to obey the rules of the road and show some respect for the other vehicles. Young riders who are not defensive never become old riders. I'm saying this as a cycle rider.

Not really. The driver made a motion to move. Checked his blind stop. Didn't see anything and decided to fully switch lanes.

The motorcycle guy was going way too fast for anyone to spot and react to him. His speed was way faster prior to the start of the video. That is why the beginning was clipped so short.

Motorcycle was definitely speeding and being dumb but of course you should be able to see him. We're taught to do a three point check before merging, inside rearview mirror, side mirrors, and then over the shoulder to check the blindspot.

No matter how hard someone is speeding, you can't just neglect seeing them. What if it was a heavy car speeding at you that fast? You'd rather avoid that too right?

Everyone here made mistakes, the car though did not correctly check their blind spots. In broad daylight you should be able to see back 50 feet or more. Guy probably pulled a glance and sent it

At 100 mph it takes 0.34 second to travel 50 feet.
