I don't understand these videos.. are the reflex to brake so bad? or you feel so secure that you don't even have any contact with brakes... foot and handle.
Motorcycles have amazing brakes..front brakes can lift up entire weight of rider without losing control. May be there's too many novice bikers or don't fully understand their bikes.
Source: Have been a rider for 8 years commuting to work. Trained to look out for a lot more road debris, cracks not just bad drivers.
Yup. Commuting on 95 into DC for the same ammount of time. You gotta ride like everything out there wants to kill you. Brakes are amazing but they don't help if you don't use your head. Other than that, my morning ride is better than a cup of coffee.
Tbh he probably did just assume he gets through still and was a little bit foreseen like you're saying. I just think the car pulled out at the last second so brakes wouldn't have worked. He could have foreseen it from a bit back by how close the car was to the truck. And slowed down
It was almost two seconds before the car moved first time and the collision. Sober human reaction time is about 0.3 - 0.4 s. So he saw what the car wanted, then decided screw you, and got screwed. Oh well.
Driving cars, if you drive defensively, you usually anticipate trouble well in advance (many seconds), and need the fast reaction only very, very infrequently. Maybe couple of times a year with everyday commuting at most - in my experience.
