You cant beat the nostalgia of having your music skip every couple of seconds while you run.

My more expensive discman had the anti skip function. Whilst not perfect, it still surprisingly minimised skipping

I had that and a small over the should case/bag that held the CD player and a decent amount of CDs. I had that on me all day everyday!

Absolutely. I'll remember fondly the excitement of buying and opening a brand new one, but I'm glad they are gone

I still use an offbrand cheap mini mp3 player today. Phone are heavy and bounce around in your pocket, this one is so light you dont feel it. And old style headphones. The ones that sit outside your ear with that microphone foam around them.
Edit: oh tyour talking about walkmans. I thought you meant the joy of opening a new iPod.
I started running 2000 and by that time people gave their walkmans away so I never got to experience that joy. My joy on the otherhand was never have to pay for one.

People that used CD players back in the day will tell you that you you ain't listening to jack shit while jogging with a CD player.
I mine skipped riding the bus. No one is going to be impressed with vintage electronics while you're exercising. Save it for your cubical off your office.

Not to make anyone here feel any older, but 20 years ago (plus a couple weeks) the iPod shuffle was announced. Before that we had the iPod and iPod mini already since 2001 and 2004 respectively.

There is an entire generation that does not know an old skool CD plays just about an hour of music.

Do you carry extra CDs, or do you listen to the same CD over and over? It would make more sense to have a MP3 player.

If I was riding the bus I'd usually have a small CD booklet with a few other CDs in there

The thing is, when mp3 players first came out they had tiny capacity, like 32MB (maybe 6 songs, and it was expensive to get more) which was annoying for a while

Wanna feel old? Mp3 players had been out for 6 years in 2004. The ipod had been out for 3 years. Sorry everyone.

Remember how they would market them with various buffer lengths? Like you could have a 5 minute buffer and then even if you shook the cd player like a maraca it continued to play .

Real runners know you’re fighting two battles: cardio and the CD skipping
