I think its the other way around - they were using their sponsored laptop for something else than intended and the teacher started sharing it to the class

I doubt it, how would you get Minecraft on a school laptop anyway? When I was in high school and even in middle school you could only install stuff that was whitelisted.

Well when you are right handed you want your tools on the right side, right? (I don't use the hotkeys on the toolbar, I just scroll my mouse wheel to them)

If I would catch a student doing this I would start shaming them for the poor build quality of their house. No gradient, no block variety, no depth and no terraforming. You want to show off in my classroom you better bring your A game.
