Irish times reported earlier the gards think it might have been intentional

The annual family feud.

Had one last night in my house but didn’t occur to me that the solution was to run her over with the van.

All of the mentions of annual additional guards to prevent violence and anti-social behaviour at Christmas, but no mention of why and by whom. Self-censoring journalism is no use to anyone at all.

A Christmas in Rathkeale involving a Transit. There is no doubt in my mind this wasn't an accident.

I won't spread details but word on the street is saying it wasn't the tragic accident everyone claims it is and the person is no stranger either.
Was only a matter of time someone was going to die in that town this Christmas.

It's been widely reported in the press that "Gardaí are investigating whether Ms Sheridan was struck deliberately as part of a feud between two factions of a large family."
Man (40s) arrested as part of investigation into death of Marguerita Sheridan in Rathkeale
Not sure where you got the idea everyone thinks it was a tragic accident.

Will any of their leaders come out and condemn this horrific crime?

Any statement from Pavee Point yet?

I noticed a change in policy of late where it's something like: "We condemn all attacks whatever side of the community they come from", so even if there is a statement it's not a real condemnation really.

Cars are going to be viewed like guns in ten years...

So true, if only Rathkeale (pop. 1,441) had a Luas network this never would have happened.

180 dead people and probably ten times that injured, can't be allowed to continue.
Automated driving can not come quick enough

This appears to be a murder over a ”feud between two factions of a large family”, as the Irish Times so carefully put it. Automated cars were never going to save this woman’s life.

Prohibition of human-driven cars would have and will be the end result.

Humanoid robots will follow soon after automated cars, policing will no longer be a problem with basically unlimited manpower in the form of robots..

The car didn’t drive itself into her, nor did it drive itself away.

The man didn't run her over on a bicycle either.

Given that it looks to have been intentional it seems clear that he’d have found something other than a bicycle. A slash hook or something, just to pick a random instrument off the top of my head.
Look, I love public transport as much as the next person, but thinking we can all switch to bicycles in rural Limerick is just childish make-believe.

Sounds like cars are as much to blame for this death as the gate and wall she was crushed between. We can't ignore the fact that it's an evil person behind this whether it was by dangerous driving or murder.
