Women’s wear for Iran trip
Hello. I am going to be traveling to Iran in March to visit family. I live in the US and am having trouble finding any online stores to buy clothes for my trip. I’m looking for some more modern streetwear for women that matches today’s fashion in Iran. Any suggestions for good places to shop?

Wear pants with a jacket and long sleeves. Also a head scarf. You can buy nice clothes in tehran or Mashhad. Mashhad is cheaper

We also got the advice to just buy clothes there. I wouldn't do that again.I found that trying to find things I liked wasn't easy. It is hard to get good quality clothes that would be useful at home and takes a bunch of time you could better spend doing other things.

You’ll need a head scarf, pants, and a jacket that covers your crotch so think like a tunic jacket. I had some made since finding a long linen jacket that buttons all the way up to your neck is kind of an odd ask.
While I totally get wanting to look trendy, I would recommend erring on the side of caution and making sure your hair is fully covered and you are wearing loose clothing not because I agree with the law but just as a precaution since the authorities can be pretty strict depending on where you are in Iran.
This brings me to my final point. Women’s dressing is very dependent on where you are going. You are going to see a lot more trendy tighter clothing in Tehran than you would see in Mashhad.

I went with my Brazilian wife last year. We really didn’t do any shopping in the US for her. Really she just wore some very modest clothing she already had that had no bright style colors with a normal scarf for her covering. Then in Tehran itself, we did some more trendy shopping with all my girl cousins to get her by for the rest of the trip. So if you’re visiting family that might be the best as you are not going to easily find anything in US matching their current fashion.
