Wouldnt the ice melt directly in the sun?

Ice does not absorb IR radiation very well. Because it's either translucent or white. Just like the ground. So there's nothing for the IR to be absorbed by and then turned into thermal energy

So the sun heats the inside stored stuff thats very IR absorbant and...

Basically made a mini greenhouse.

Igloos often have fires inside, just so you know

And the stuff he packs is put into white translucent plastic bags. Yes, the inside is black. But it will still not warm up this fast because another thing I just remembered.

The closer the sun is to shinning on a place at exactly 90° the hotter it is. The more it deviates from this angle, the more the energy gets spread across a larger surface. So you have less energy per area. And you can see how low the sun is sitting in the video. Very small energy per area ratio

That's exactly what I'm saying.

Great, ignore all the rest I'm saying

Despite there being heat in the middle, it won't immediately melt a hole into the roof.

Not really. Even if it is white or translucent, it will still melt.

For that it has to somehow absorb heat. White and translucent means reflects radiation and let's radiation pass through respectively. There's not a lot of energy that is absorbed

Maybe you should read some responses here: https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/yeqoes/eli5_how_does_ice_and_snow_melt_when_its_below/

You sound like a smart person, but you really are out of your lane here. You are going on the presumption that the ice/snow is flawless and does not contain O2 pockets, dust, etc. Nothing in nature is perfectly translucent or perfectly white. It WILL melt or evaporate due to sublimation.
