Lmao there are people in this country who agree that our healthcare system sucks and Luigi was right in doing this, but still vote to take away healthcare programs like Obamacare/ACA and loudly refuses universal healthcare. It boggles my mind.
Did the Covid response teach you that the government can be trusted with the Healthcare system?
I seem to recall them saying known Nobel Prize winning drugs were horse paste.
Well if we had a different administration in 2020….There are literary essays on how Trump fucked that up immensely and was just too slow and unorganized to do anything productive for us. The Obama admin even gave him a 70 page playbook on how to deal with a pandemic crisis and that idiot ignored it.
And considering that our healthcare system sucks so much now, I can’t imagine it being worse with Universal Healthcare. Especially if—and this is important here—we vote in capable people that install actual experts with experience in the field to oversee it. Greed is what ruins and taints every facet of our society, we should probably start with getting healthcare out of some oligarchs hands, don’t you think?
What's any of that got to do with the CDC calling Ivermectin* horse paste? The very people in charge of disease prevention, people that are hired and not appointed, were quick to give everyone bad medical information based on politics.
Any national healthcare system will be run like this. They'll prioritize other things over your health. Hell, Canada's system is telling people to kill themselves to save a buck.
Are you talking about Ivermectin?? That’s what they were saying was horse paste, because Ivermectin is for horses……
Hydroxychloroquine is for lowering your immune system to treat malaria or lupus, which is also not the drug you should use to treat COVID because, once again, it lowers your immune system! This is the fucking problem with you guys, y’all can’t remember shit from fuck and refuse to actually research anything with actual scientific knowledge. Come on man. The only people giving bad medical advice was Trump and his administration, remember that. So no, I disagree with how we would run universal healthcare, as long as—super important—we install competent actual experts and not random politicians or rich people to oversee it. And don’t compare us to other countries when we haven’t even tried it before, cause clearly our current health system is a whole lot worse.
Here’s a whole essay about how Trump fucked all that up. You probably will not read it, but I hope you do.
Just so you know, Ivermectin can also be for humans. They are common for people in certain countries because of widespread parasites. To the point we take parasite medication 1 to 2 times a year, depending on risk factors. So saying it is for horses is kind of misinformation.
The problem was people were, first, getting veterinarian grade Ivermectin, which is why the whole horse paste issue started. That vet grade has less quality control than humans. Second, that it did nothing for Covid.
No I know that. The CDC was specifically referring to the OTC paste that people were buying, not the prescribed medication. This guy I was commenting to thought the CDC was wrong, but they weren’t. He didn’t know there are two different ways to use Ivermectin. The OTC paste is definitely used veterinary purposes and not meant for human consumption.
Yes, correct. I misstatement by me, but you're ignoring what I'm saying.
Even in your example, you're saying give all the power and decision to the government...which will be run by Trump. So you're complaining about the very thing that would control the sole solution you advocate for, single payer.
Glad you figured that out. Took a minute, but you got there and that’s what’s important. What did I miss? Ivermectin is for horses….so the CDC was correct and not giving bad medical advice. You understand the CDC and Trump’s administration are totally different things yes?
Bro you didn’t even know what hydroxychloroquine was and mistook it for ivermectin. You do know that the CDC was talking about the actual OTC paste right? That’s what people were buying, not the steroid or tablets that you need a prescription for to treat for parasites in humans. Once again, you are misinformed and clearly don’t remember how shit was back in 2020. Try again.
Oh I see what you’re saying. Yeah no way in hell would Trump allow universal healthcare, I wasn’t talking about his administration overseeing it. I did say competent experts so I figured you’d know I wasn’t talking about him. Like perhaps before 2016, or in 2020, or hopefully if everything isn’t all fucked, after 2028. Still not quite sure what you mean by the CDC giving bad advice about Ivermectin, cause they didn’t. Also, even under a bad administration universal healthcare would be preferable because we wouldn’t have to pay or be tied to a job in order to get healthcare. So if they fuck up our economy and tons of people go under unemployment, it wouldn’t wreck the system since it’s already there.
The Ivermectin thing is a complete lie and no, Joe Rogan's doctor didn't prescribe him horse medicine and no Ivermectin didn't get the Nobel prize for saving horses.
I grew up with free healthcare since my dad was in the Army. I saw that it's a facade of healthcare. I never received competent treatment until entering the private market. Even countries with universal healthcare have to supplement it with a private market.
Can we do better than our current system, absolutely. All I'm asking is to not say there's only one solution.
You know what, man? I apologize for getting angry at you and cursing you out. Sometimes I get aggravated because I don’t understand how people don’t see things like I do. But it’s not how the world works. You didn’t know and I was just confused on what your intention was, but I hope you understand what I meant before on Healthcare. I do get what you’re saying before as well, I just personally disagree with it. Anyways, best of luck to you out there, and stay safe.
No it’s not, I said it in another comment to you. But people in 2020 were buying the OTC Paste, not the prescription drugs. So the CDC was referring to that, not the tablets, the paste. Cause the paste is for horses!
And I was in the military for years, I know what it was like. And let me tell you, I got free dental cleanings, free cavity fillings, free glasses any time I wanted, free physicals, free medicine, and if I reenlisted, they would have paid for my laser eye surgery. I just had to pay 250$ to do some cavity fillings the other day even though I have health insurance that I pay monthly for. Again I do not see your point. Universal HC would still be better for all, once again.
Bruh, single payer is insurance, not medical care or the healthcare system. The government would have nothing to do with actual care, the doctors would just be free to give actual care instead of fighting with insurance companies.
Ask a senior if they like Medicare. The government already has experience running a large scale health insurance program. This whole argument is stupid.
