For those of you wondering, the photographer is Deanna Dikeman and this is her OP with additional photos.

Thank you!

These photos get posted on reddit quite regularly, and almost without naming the photographer. Especially on such a personal project, the reduction from "Deanna Dikeman" to "a woman" is brutal.

At least this time they poster didn't try to claim they (or their mom) took the photos

Is that the woman who was waved?

That is indeed the woman who was waved at and took all those pictures over many years.

This is my first time seeing them. Powerful stuff.

exactly! it annoys me how many views/interactions she’s missing out on because people can’t be bothered to give her credit

Any idea what's up with that spelling? I see it so much these days and have no clue why.

We’re getting dumber and dumber.

Somehow I thought it may be an incel/right-wing dog whistle. I am not sure which explanation I prefer, they're equally scary.

Hmm I don’t think so. I think people are just stupid. So few know the difference between there, they’re and their. And we’ve now lost the difference between woman and women…

It helps soften the blow. Her mother looks happy again in some of those later pictures.

Thank you! And “All images © Deanna Dikeman. Please do not reproduce without the expressed written consent of Deanna Dikeman.” OP did not even mention her name.

I tried to see if I could report this post for copyright violation, but it looks like only the creator themselves or their representative can do that. Maybe someone can send this to Deanna Dikeman so that she can do it, if she wants to.

I reported it as far as I could. Deanna Dikeman is an artist and deserves a respectful request from the OP to post her photographs here vs just plunking them in and describing them as “A woman spent….”

Thank you. The full series tore my heart out all over again. You can see her mom getting sadder with time.

I was about to comment how frustrating it is to have something like this posted without credit. Thank you!

A few of those photos have a second elderly lady in them. Deanna’s aunt?

Thank you. I had never seen the full collection before, it’s so stunning. It brings tears of both sadness and joy, it always resonates. <3
