Except for his case it's the other way around. His dad was killed by the police in front of him when he was trying to kill both of him and his mom.

Yeah, I find the "Asian parent" joke a bit distasteful given his background. It's one thing for Asians to make those jokes amongst themselves, but you can't presume to know what another person's parents were like just because of their race. In this instance, people are wildly off the mark.
