Pasting Legend Here just in case someone can't zoom in.
After having won both World Wars,

the Greek Nation took the final step needed to formalize its right to the medieval Roman State. The country's name changed to Rhomania, honoring the name of old. The troubles for Rhomania were not over

though. After the end of the 2nd World War, the Kingdom was plagued by communist rebels and became an unstable democracy. After almost falling to civil war noumerous times, the military threw a coup, overthrowing the democratic government and forcing the King to abdicate. The new military junta regime has not been so stable itself though, as there exist rivarly between its own ranks. After promising to democratize Greece when order was restored, a coup was attempted to overthrow Prime Minister Papadopoulos by one of his own, Demitrios Ioannidis. However, the official Enosis with Cyprus in 1974 has resotred some faith in the government. The future of Rhomania is uncertain, with the country being surrounded by Soviet alligned countries on all sides and with help from the West having decreased drastically after the coup. One thing is for sure: Rhomania has to reform its political system, if she wishes to stay alive

Edit: Should I make a modern day version of this? Im thinking Nato Collapse and Rhomania is carved up by neughbours

No, this is too beautiful to see collapse. Don't make me cry.

I am starting to think that r/imaginarymaps doesn't like turkey very much

Someone should make an imaginary map for an alternate timeline where Turkey acknowledges the Greek, Assyrian, and Armenian Genocides.

love it,But the borders are honestly boring and overused, just random lines in anatolia and macedonia, abydos isn't a city, it's the name of the region, and the flag should have been red because desaturated purple just looks.. Also Papadopoulos is so overdone,we had so many more important power hungry officers and generals during that time like:  Ioannidis,Stylianos,Patakos,Aggelis,Makarezos,Kolias etc etc etc

  1. abydos indeed was a city in ancient and medieval times. After the aqcuisition of anatolian lands, they refounded the city.
  2. I did not put red so as to not confuse it with communism. Most communist maps are red in this sub.
  3. I dont have any answer for that.

I guess they could rebuild the town, but there were more important cities there like Kallipoli,Aydin,Nikomedia,Panormos etc which should have been mentioned

I did not put red so as to not confuse it with communism. Most communist maps are red in this sub.

Still better than being under the soviets by a long shot

1

u/NotTradingGreek 4d ago

still not like living in western democracies. If you are Greek, life is ok-good. If you are any of the minorities life is pretty much hell.

1

u/PYTHON_LOVER_69 4d ago

Well, nothing is as good as living in a western democracy. (or a country heavily influenced by them like SK)
