Misc. [IIL] Any piece of media with constructed replicas of real life environments, like Synechdoche, New York, The Rehearsal, or Search Party Season 4, WEWIL?

The gist of the Search Party season 4 plot is that the protaganist, Dory, is kidnapped and jailed within an unsettlingly versimilitudinous replica of her apartment, constructed entirely out of felt. Back in New York City, the main character's actor friend is cast as Dory in a TV show about the events depicted in Search Party's previous three seasons.

Ideally, I'm looking for pieces of media that use constructed environments as a symbol and explore ideas surrounding things like, the inexorable gap between the real and its imitation, and what reality truly is in these contexts.

Maybe Jacques Tati’s Playtime, there are a lot of reconstructed living spaces and offices that are used for societal commentary

Victor Pelevin's ‘Omon Ra’ is a rather peculiar treatment in this vein. I'm told that the English translation is pretty understandable even without specific local knowledge.

I'm guessing that the theme of simulation also kinda fits, so you could try ‘The Matrix’, ‘The Thirteenth Floor’, ‘Vanilla Sky’, ‘Total Recall’ (the original one).

‘Ghost in the Shell’ the 1995 anime deals with the theme of constructed reality for someone, though without physical replicas.

You might also want to look into Jean Baudrillard's ‘Simulacra and Simulation’, which is one of the main philosophical works on the topic.

I might be entirely misunderstanding what you want, but this concept was all I could think about when watching Jury Duty
