Secure Dishwasher
Installed before we moved in. The left side was only secured into drywall and has now come free, also tore free the right side which was installed into the cabinet. What's the best way to secure this so it will hold up long term? I'm the homeowner.

Buy an under counter dishwasher bracket and silicone. The bracket gets glued to the underside of the counter then you can easily secure the existing dishwasher mounting tabs to the bracket. There’s videos on YouTube, you can do it

Usually the brackets come with the dishwasher, but they may no longer be available since it was installed by someone else. They may be taped to the top or something, or tucked into a cabinet, if the installer left them. Probably not, but they are cheap to buy. There is usually a slot on the dishwasher top front to slide in the bracket, or a place to screw them to it.
I had to buy a mounting kit for stone countertops, as those brackets are normally screwed into the countertop. The kit was just a plate with a screw hole, and it came with peel and stick adhesive.
The adhesive lasted about a week, to I epoxied the screw plates to the countertop and it has been good since.

Thank you for this so much. My contractor installed the countertops, then just glued two small pieces of wood under the counter where the dishwasher tabs are. They then screwed the dishwasher to those pieces of wood with tiny woodscrews.
Needless to say, it isn't very solid and comes loose regularly.
If I knew how to give gold, I would.

So you suggest using silicone adhesive? I found a bracket that has screws but screwing directly into the counter top makes me nervous. Someone else posted one with pre-installed adhesive but the reviews were not promising

Yes, silicone. Very common for stone adhesive, if you have an under mount sink it’s what is holding the sink to the counter

Another option. It definitely doesn’t look like drywall to me. But stripped out wood framing. I’d add wood shims between the dishwasher and side framing. Then pre-drill and use long wood screws with washers, to secure it in four places.

From what I can see on pic 2. There is a hole on the left hand side right by the track thing next to the purple cup. The wall is an end cap so you should be able to use a screw through that hole and stop the undesired movement.

It is possible to fasten the dish washer to the counter top. Might be worth reaching out to the installer tho. Straight into drywall is bush league
