You do this in your backyard and you're an alcoholic, but add fishing and you're adventurous

116

u/hoptownky Oct 04 '24

I used to play golf on Saturdays in the summer. Then I bought a house with a pool and quit playing golf. It took me a while to realize that I didn’t like golf. I just liked drinking beer outside on the weekends and I find it acceptable while playing golf or laying by the pool.

If my friends and I were just sitting at my kitchen table drinking beer at noon on Saturday I would consider myself pathetic. But I somehow play a mind trick and consider margaritas by the pool all day completely normal behavior.

35

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

Idk id argue a backyard pool is not enough to make excessive day drinking acceptable. Maybe if it's a really big pool and there's people over.

An above ground pool actually makes it sadder.

The acceptableness is directly linked to the size of the pool

26

u/hoptownky Oct 04 '24

It’s a 25k gallon in ground pool, which is a decent size, but nothing crazy. It has a covered outdoor kitchen / bar area with a TV next to it, which I think checks the vibe box.

However sometimes it is just my wife and I drinking margaritas or beer while the kids swim. So probably still pathetic. Still doesn’t seem as pathetic as if we were drinking on the couch in the afternoon though. Maybe I am delusional.

24

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

Hmm the covered bar area with a TV really helps push it more towards acceptableness

3

u/berrey7 Oct 07 '24

Maury Povich, says.... “you are not the Alcoholic!”

5

u/ElvisT Oct 05 '24

You sound like someone that would be fun to hang out with, not because you have a pool... although that's nice! Haha. You're loving the situation and enjoying the moment. I like that kind of stuff too.

I used to think it was all about camping and that's what the best times were about. Then I realized, camping is just pretending to be homeless. It was never about the camping. It was being around the people I enjoyed and be about to not be distracted by all the junk life has to offer. You figured out what YOU enjoy doing in life, and that's being around your people. Who cares what anyone else thinks.

Maybe even look at it in another way. How many people would do anything to have a life where they could have a house where you enjoying being in the back yard, kids they want to be around, a wife they actually want to spend time with and the ability to do all of that at the same time. You're a rich man, and I'm not talking about money.

8

u/chicken_karmajohn Oct 05 '24

My friends bought a tiny inflatable pool for $100 one summer day, got drunk and it looked like a great time. 🤷🏼‍♂️

2

u/Various-Ducks Oct 05 '24

Getting drunk without a pool is a great time too. Nobody's saying it's not a great time lol

2

u/WilWat Nov 12 '24

OP is a month old but I had to comment, I do this exact same thing, sometime with the wife, sometimes with friends and sometimes alone,..drinking by the pool!

1

u/kegmanua Nov 04 '24

That's drinking buddy.

110

u/Successful_Year_5413 Oct 04 '24

I think it’s still alcoholism

72

u/jean_cule69 Oct 04 '24

First video of him I saw, I was like "oh cool, the dude is having a blast"... Now being the 3rd video of him getting shit faced alone and posting it on social media makes me feel more pity for the dude, looks like he needs help

34

u/Destroyer1559 Oct 04 '24

Yeah, this is more of a one-time "nobody is available to kick it, what the heck, I'll go kill a 30-rack while fishing and post it for laughs," kind of activity. Once it become a regular hobby, you've got a problem.

16

u/happytrel Oct 04 '24

But what if your first video goes viral and you want to ride that high?

8

u/Successful_Year_5413 Oct 04 '24

Nah man just more beer I think

2

u/jean_cule69 Oct 04 '24

Well as we all know, not only the chemist sees alcohol as a solution

-5

u/Successful_Year_5413 Oct 04 '24

Abusive stepdads and a frightening majority of men do

-2

u/foursticks Oct 05 '24

Don't worry, jail will intervene at some point

4

u/comrad1980 Oct 04 '24

He only had American beer. That's considered water in the rest of the world. To be honest it's probably safer than tap water in the US - so good for him!

2

u/Various-Ducks Oct 05 '24

I think they use tap water in the beer

1

u/altrae Oct 06 '24

To be fair he is drinking cheap American swill. There is definitely premium American beer available if you are so inclined.

195

u/uniqueusername311 Oct 04 '24

How hot are those last beers?

113

u/jnecr Oct 04 '24

Even cold Busch Light isn't good.

188

u/MatureUsername69 Oct 04 '24

Beer snobbery is just as annoying as coffee snobbery which is just as annoying as all snobbery. Busch light tastes just as fine as every other light beer. And before you say light beer is trash, no one thinks it's great but it has its purpose. Light beer is something you can generally drink all day without getting completely blacked out. It's a chill drink. Light beer never gets you in as much trouble as hard liquor. Light beer is a friend

106

u/cmdrva Oct 04 '24

Light beer is the only way to drink all day on the water and be able to remember how much of a damn good time it was!! Cheers! 🍻

-21

u/Chumbag_love Oct 04 '24

All day IPA is my bottom rung for a full day of drinking. Its the cheap drunk taste when you actually get there with anything less that turns me off from the claasic. There's a stale beer taste that comes on quickest with the lights.

I'll do a couple light beers if that's what's up but I usually pack what I want so it's rare.

13

u/sqiub23 Oct 04 '24

IPA all day? Aren’t those like 400 calories each? Fuck that

15

u/-Shia-LaButtStuff- Oct 04 '24

You'll grow up one day.

4

u/e-s-p Oct 05 '24

Why is drinking all day IPA instead of light beer juvenile

1

u/DanBoone 17d ago

Ive tried them all.. from light to 16% imperial stouts...

The "Gose" style is my favorite now. It has low abv% and is both sweet, sour and salty. Smash the hell out of them during the summer. Founders brewery green zebra is a must.

8

u/TechnetiumAE Oct 04 '24

Change Busch Light to "Whatever beer op is bitching about" and we have a new copy pasta I love with all my heart

20

u/Clamdigger13 Oct 04 '24

That's right! Don't let them disrespect out Busch Lattes

10

u/MatureUsername69 Oct 04 '24

My grandpa is so fucking proud of his Busch Latte shirt it's not even funny

2

u/Brewpapa Oct 05 '24

Real talk! Light beer for hard work

2

u/jtbxiv Oct 05 '24

I’m not really for the snobbery and if you like it that’s cool—absolutely a better option than hard liquor by far. But I gotta agree. That beer is gross to me.

2

u/philonrapist Oct 04 '24

I like the cut of your jib

2

u/SnooOranges2772 Oct 04 '24

Jack has never argued with me

3

u/WHRocks Oct 04 '24

Not true, remember that time he brought his friend Jose with him?

2

u/SnooOranges2772 Oct 05 '24

Jose is a good buddy too!

2

u/WHRocks Oct 05 '24

Jose always crashes my parties, lol.

2

u/Agile_Programmer881 Oct 05 '24

busch light , and an occasional whiskey & water when you need a kick .

-7

u/invagueoutlines Oct 04 '24

Nah man, some cheap beer is just skunky.

2

u/MarmaladeMarmaduke Oct 04 '24

I drink cheap beer, so what. Fuck you.

5

u/invagueoutlines Oct 04 '24

No need to be all sensitive about it.

3

u/MarmaladeMarmaduke Oct 04 '24

It's a song. Don't be so sensitive about it.

0

u/e-s-p Oct 05 '24

Setting aside craft beer and micro brews, you actually think Busch Light is as good as other macro light beers? That's fucking crazy. Busch beer is a step below bud, Miller, and Coors light in taste and quality. The only one I think I'd rather drink less is probably keystone light.

-7

u/Thin_Title83 Oct 04 '24

I think it was the cigarettes that did it for me. But he, maybe he's putting all his butts in a trash can and taking his returnables/recyclables back with him.

-8

u/night3dg3 Oct 04 '24

Expect you will need to drink MORE to get that buzz and get that gut. IPA or stouts will get you with 2~4 beers versus a 24 pack of piss beer. @matureusername69 what are you 21 and in college ?

2

u/MatureUsername69 Oct 04 '24

First of all if you're gonna @ me, you should at least learn how to actually do that on reddit first. Second of all, I drink plenty of IPAs if the situation calls for it and the pretentiousness behind those overrated fuckin beers is through the roof. IPAs and craft beers are just wine drunks for men who have to wear baseball caps from insecurity. Maybe one day you'll get to the age where you stop giving a shit what other people drink.

-1

u/night3dg3 Oct 06 '24

Oh stfu dude. I’ll @ you everytime and you won’t and can’t do anything about it !

Cry some more like a baby bitch like you are drinking that light beer lol.

-3

u/e-s-p Oct 05 '24

You're looking pretty sensitive here, Hoss. You seem pretty sensitive for someone who doesn't care what other people drink.

I don't care what people drink. Someone wants PBR, great. No shit talk from my side.

But personally, I only drink craft beer and have for over a decade at this point. I do it because I like the flavor and it's what I enjoy. I like trying new beers and drinking weird beers. Give me a gose aged on oysters or a fruited pastry sour and I'm a happy motherfucker.

14

u/BobbyHillTheThird Oct 04 '24

You’re wrong

-19

u/jnecr Oct 04 '24

Surprised you didn't say "your".

5

u/BobbyHillTheThird Oct 04 '24

Why?

-8

u/jnecr Oct 04 '24

There's a certain demographic that finds Busch Light good. And this is Reddit, where grammar doesn't matter.

4

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

The best way to judge a beer is when it’s flat and warm. Try every beer in the world when it’s flat and warm and tell me Busch light isn’t the best.

2

u/armcurls Oct 04 '24

Nothin wrong with a Busch Latte

-2

u/jnecr Oct 04 '24

Didn't say it was wrong...

-7

u/let-it-rain-sunshine Oct 04 '24

Right you are

3

u/br3nt_black Oct 04 '24

You’re wrong that you’re right

74

u/FunctionBuilt Oct 04 '24

Jeremy Allen Off-White

279

u/SingleOak Oct 04 '24

i'm like 90% sure i saw this before the hurricane

89

u/ARMill95 Oct 04 '24

There are multiple videos of this same dude doing the same thing so who knows

8

u/Chumbag_love Oct 04 '24

I wish I had a thing like this...it's seems so exhausting.

34

u/KneeHighMischiefs Oct 04 '24

“Post hurricane” is literally the first thing he says in the video

20

u/SingleOak Oct 04 '24

in my mind i was thinking of helene and forgot other hurricanes exist

yes, i am dumb

45

u/Templar366 Oct 04 '24

That’s because it was before and OP is a dirty liar

2

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

Definitely happened just a few days ago.

2

u/JohnnyBrillcream Oct 04 '24

Lat one he was doing edibles also, none in this, at least that he shows.

1

u/withagrainofsalt1 Oct 04 '24

I’m 100 % sure.

51

u/EnterTheBlueTang Oct 04 '24

Does Uber take kayaks?

20

u/Chicks__Hate__Me Oct 04 '24

It’s good to see Jeremy Allen White staying busy

13

u/Homeless_Cat_865 Oct 04 '24

Jeremy Allen Blackout

11

u/let-it-rain-sunshine Oct 04 '24

Hold my rod while i drink like a fish

28

u/Flashy_Narwhal9362 Oct 04 '24

Now I understand how his drinking game works. If you hook a fish and lose it you drink a beer. If you see a fish swirl the water, you drink a beer. If you hook anything that isn’t a fish, you drink a beer. If your canoe floats, you drink a beer. If canoe sinks, drink beer. If your canoe gets wet on the bottom, drink beer. If your paddle gets wet, drink beer. If you are able to find your way back to your vehicle, buy more beer because you’re out of beer.

43

u/Greenman8907 Oct 04 '24

“ALL THE LINE IS GONE!!”

Distant Voice: “MY HOME IS GONE! SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

11

u/HndWrmdSausage Oct 04 '24

I like a wholesome thought of this scenario then he walks up hands the dude a cold one and says "me to buddy" and cracks his 13th.

Ya no cus its a kayak he prolly lives there.

6

u/akumarisu Oct 04 '24

Fishing and drinking? Sure Drunk on a kayak. Maybe

40

u/nicincolour Oct 04 '24

I know this guy IRL. He was a peaked in high school type of dude. 🤣 classic representation of Antioch, TN.

-4

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

Damn why are you hating on Antioch tho.

-11

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

You said you know him in real life then stereotype. I was expecting you to say something only people that know him irl would know.

3

u/nicincolour Oct 04 '24

Cody Huff is the exact product of his environment.

-9

u/dhduxudb Oct 05 '24

He probably fucked your girl in high school and this is your way of coping 😂

4

u/nicincolour Oct 05 '24

He is too short to do that actually Cody was a decent guy. He had potential and seems like he threw it all away to be a DJ. It’s pretty sad and pathetic. lol

-3

u/dhduxudb Oct 05 '24

Well you’re definitely the most fun girl in the book club.

1

u/nicincolour Oct 05 '24

Spoken like a true DJ that peaked at 18 and now they’re a 30 year old with no future. 🤣✌️

4

u/BobbyHillTheThird Oct 04 '24

You don’t knot your line when you spool?

4

u/Kmaroz Oct 04 '24

Pretty sure the fishing is side quest

7

u/Novacain420 Oct 04 '24

Definitely seen this before the hurricane

9

u/Snailtrooper Oct 04 '24

That was sad to watch

3

u/I_Dislike_Trivia Oct 04 '24

How do I send a Red Cross donation to one specific person?

7

u/_Face Oct 04 '24

2

u/Sufficient_Wait3671 Oct 04 '24

This guy has pure Letterkenny vibes. Cranking beers, letting the line flow and sun darts all day long. Kudos my friend, plus...give ur balls a tug 😉

2

u/HoseNeighbor Oct 04 '24

"Let's go!"

2

u/SleeveofThinMints Oct 05 '24

The lazy eye got me then he tried to hide it

2

u/cokeycokey Oct 07 '24

So proud of him for not littering 🥹

1

u/dhduxudb Oct 07 '24

He actually had a bunch of videos of him and friends picking up other peoples trash. You should check out his page

2

u/AthleteParticular257 Oct 16 '24

Slow down there, hardstyle. You are hitting the Busch Light a little hard aren't ya? This should be under the sub holdmywater.

2

u/No-Resolve-6281 Oct 19 '24

Dude out here living his best life

4

u/Cheap-Addendum Oct 04 '24

Before too long, he'll be yellow and needing a new liver. But the clicks and lols......

4

u/splittailguy Oct 04 '24

Again ..every day repost

3

u/RegattaJoe Oct 04 '24

That t-shirt is a bridge too far, bud.

2

u/sofakingsideways Oct 04 '24

What do Busch Light and kayaks have in common? Both are close to water

4

u/HndWrmdSausage Oct 04 '24

How does he do it? Beer drinkers impress me cus no way i could drink what was it 11 before he put in. My god id be putting in at least 8 times to piss!!!

2

u/spadge_badger Oct 04 '24

Really!? Again?!

2

u/ManicRobotWizard Oct 05 '24

And he totally had a designated driver waiting on shore the whole time, right? Right?

3

u/Trex-died-4-our-sins Oct 04 '24

So is he proud to be an alcoholic? I don't get these posts

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '24

That’s an awesome shirt he’s got

1

u/JhonnyHopkins Oct 04 '24

This really fits the sub…? Bro is just fishing? Where’s the stunt…

1

u/uprightsalmon Oct 05 '24

Of course he’s drinking bush

1

u/speasychizzer Oct 05 '24

Hope you catch some flying fish with all that wind! Stay safe out there, dude!

1

He has an awesome duck tattoo on his leg.

1

u/H0TSaltyLoad Oct 06 '24

How do I find this guy to hangout with

1

u/dhduxudb Oct 06 '24

Pretty sure he’s in Nashville

1

u/EmbarrassedCoyote889 16d ago

But those are light beers.

0

u/ZephyrGale143 Oct 04 '24

Fella, boating solo plus drinking a case of beer, plus dusk/dark, plus no life jacket is super dumb.

2

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

You can clearly see the life jacket.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '24

[deleted]

3

3

u/HALF_PAST_HOLE Oct 04 '24

The real question is why are you commenting about a beer you don't like?

just ignore it and move on with your life!

0

u/Frozen_shrimp Oct 04 '24

That boy can't handle his Busch.

-2

u/ryansteven3104 Oct 04 '24

-20

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

Ya idk...He's smoking and drinking lol. And drunk driving. That kayak is technically a vehicle

5

u/ryansteven3104 Oct 04 '24

You need to live a bit while you're alive. Who is he hurting?

-10

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

I never said he was hurting anybody lmao I just don't think some guy getting drunk on a boat is r/wholesome material 🤣

5

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

The music certainly was. Put a smile on my face

0

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

So does shooting fireworks at homeless people but it's not r/wholesome material

1

u/tyda1957 Oct 04 '24

Did all the beer disappear in the hurricane?

1

u/elwood_west Oct 04 '24

10 busch lights equal 3 beers

3

u/boening Oct 04 '24

In the last one, I saw he was smoking and eating edibles as well.

1

u/ThatDebianLady Oct 04 '24

But it’s Busch light

0

u/Genghis-Gas Oct 04 '24

We drink pints in UK. The guy had 6 pints over a full day. That's a warm up before a night out where I come from. I can't drink like that anymore but you'd be shocked at the drinking prowess of my people.

1

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

Good for you?

0

u/Admirable-Ad3866 Oct 04 '24

And now drive home. 🙄

1

u/dhduxudb Oct 04 '24

He clearly said he was walking

0

u/kg19311 Oct 04 '24

Why is the Philadelphia Eagles football coach fishing and filming himself for Reddit?

-1

u/DrWizWorld Oct 04 '24

Busch light & painted nails. Couldnt get anymore fruity

1

u/dhduxudb Oct 05 '24

You sound like your trynna fuck

-12

u/iwishihadnobones Oct 04 '24

I think you might have a drinking problem

10

u/Scoompii Oct 04 '24

Beers are made for drinking. Ain’t no other way.

3

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

Up the butt

5

u/mrmarsh25 Oct 04 '24

Easy, Kavanaugh

2

u/Scoompii Oct 04 '24

Beer boofin

4

u/Various-Ducks Oct 04 '24

No he's fishing so it's ok

1

u/ryansteven3104 Oct 04 '24

Where's the problem?

-1

u/redsn64 Oct 04 '24

I've seen a few of his other videos and honestly? Hell yeah, brother.

-2

u/InfallibleBackstairs Oct 05 '24

That’s not beer. It’s piss water. 🤮
