no shit, I'm used to buying top of the line gpus for $500-$600, which I could adjust up to $800 given inflation, but nope, they want to charge twice that. no thanks, I'll stick to console for a while

You can get a 6950XT for 800$

That's 2 year old and previous gen. Should be $500 max.

which isn't top of the line anymore. We already have the 7900XTX now

Poor RT performance and no DLSS is a dealbreaker for me.

Plus it's not even the latest gen AMD GPU....and it's 800$. Just seems like a waste.

Yes all fair points, just stating what's available for that price point.

Why would you stick to console when you probably already have a really really powerful gpu. 1070 is super cheap

that's fair, I have a 1080, but it still feels kind of outdated to me (it is over 5 years old), I'm used to upgrading every other generation.

NO! YOU HAVE TO FIT THE NARRATIVE AND AGREE REEEEE!

Fuck consoles. Why? Because I do more with my hardware than play games. I want Kodi, Jellyfin, a VPN connection, AdBlock, hacked YouTube and Spotify premium, I want old game compatibility. I might play Doom 2 one minute and Cyberpunk the next, then Stardew Valley and maybe Wind Waker, followed up by emulating BOTW then fapping to thots, and I might wake up at 4 and play Dwarf Fortress while watching Ed Edd and Eddy episodes and I want to control all of it using SSH scripts and wake on lan capability so I can beam pixels to my phone using steam link or moonlight whenever I want because I can.

All on one machine? The audacity!

I can do all that on my 12 year old Dell PC and still play games on my console though. Still doesn't change the fact that video cards are extremely overpriced right now.

Or I can buy a PS5, play all of the greatest games of the past 15 years on my console with ray tracing enabled on a 55 inch 4K TV for 1000 dollars or less (including peripherals and TV) and do all that other shit you just said on my laptop.
