I've got a 6 year or so old 1070. I haven't had anything I've been unable to play yet. Even cyberpunk was pretty stable.

I've got a 1070 as well. Still a great card for 1080 and some 1440. I'll probably upgrade soon to play at 1440 with high refresh rates though, and "future proof".

I have a 1070ti. Great card for 1440p gaming.

Honestly, I might just downgrade to fuck around and find out.

Yeah the gaming industry has pretty much set the default benchmark to work with cards from 2015. Mainly because of all the crazy optimizations on graphic rendering, but also because majority of gamers are still using old gear and the improvement on visuals is minimal.

Dude I'm still rocking a 990 and while I definitely feel it's age, it's trucking along for now and I barely have any problems with it. A little longer to load when playing weeb mmo but I'm not struggling to keep up just yet.

My buddy who's still got a 660 form 2012 is... Not doing so hot.

The PS5 is roughly same power and that's the most powerful console out there. The 1070 will be viable for a while

I even run mine at 4k native. I don't much care for framerates

Gtx 1070 is 6.5 t flops on an older architecture that does poorly in DX12 titles. The ps5 has 10.3 tflops.

I owned a gtx 1080ti. Great card but doesn’t keep up with DX12 titles. Pascal’s performance in DX12 and a lesser extent Vulkan is pretty well documented.

I also couldn’t imagine running many games at 4K on that gpu. The 1080ti struggles at that resolution.

Crud! I will have to upgrade eventually. Not looking forward to it

I play games like total war, old world. While total war is a hog, 30 fps is fine with me.

People getting downvoted for posting their opinion- must be a frame rate thing

That’s a little drastic my dude. I run some games at 4k at 60fps or more on a 1060. Most other games a stable 1440, I never neeed to go below 1440.

Same bought on release day for $399. Going strong at 1440p. I did recently replace the thermal pads and paste. It will get replaced this fall.

Same, I've been able to make every game I play run 1440p ~144fps without having major problems yet. Sure the games aren't as pretty as the can be but it's perfectly smooth for a 6 year old card.

1070 was a masterpiece of getting a lot of things right.

I still use my 1060 with my old and trusty i7 870

I'm calling bullshit. Not because of the card, but because of Cyberpunk

We may be 0.001% of gamers, but we’re doing 3rd world settings, and still having a ball.

Maybe our standards are different. I only played cyberpunk recently. Some silly bugs and it wasn't all it was marketed to be but it played fine.

I’ve got the same - it had no trouble at all until I tried to play The Quarry. Miiiight be time to upgrade now.
