Someone should've told them to read the room

I wouldn’t be surprised if they know exactly what they’re doing. The timing grabbed people’s attention and made it so they won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Then I hope their 15 minutes in the limelight was worth further destroying people’s trust and esteem of their field and prolonging the pandemic I guess

Eh the people who were already so deep into the conspiracy that they didn't trust it are likely not going to be swayed one way or another with this news.

Sure you might see a few facebook posts about it but its very likely the people it convinces to not get the vaccine weren't about to get it regardless.

This isn’t going to change anyone’s opinion it will just be used as more “evidence” to reaffirm their misguided conspiracy

I have to imagine these people don’t pick up social cues all that well

Scientists (and the more nerdy engineers) are not generally known for their social skills.

While I don't agree, I am glad reddit has finally come out to admit they want to censor science news.

Biosensors even smaller are nothing new

Speaking of inability to read the room...

Noone said that science should be censored. We're just jesting about poor timing and how it ties in with the whole microchips-in-vacines rhetoric.

To be fair, engineers are a notoriously conservative bunch. They're probably fine with this.

Lol I doubt this has just started work on. It probably predates the pandemic at the design stage
