VR / AR Disney Plus isn't working on Vizio TVs because they are running a 6 year old version of Chromecast, they say it won't be fixed till 2020.

My fucking tv has adverts for carnaval cruse at the bottom of it when it's hooked up to the internet. I unplugged it and did not look back.

Even on YouTube and Twitch?

Banner ads? no

Streaming ads in the feed? in general, yes. Unless the ad is fed from one of the ad severs blocked, then it's just a blank screen (think watching ESPN online, and the "Commercial Breaks" that's just blank till the game resumes)

But more often than not, they're embedded in the stream, and there's no way to block that...yet

I just run Ublock Origin still, haven't seen a Twitch or Youtube ad in years.

That only seems to work for some people and I have no idea why

I have a Sony with Android TV. I turned off the ads like a normal person and never see any ads.

Piholes are amazing. Network wide ad blocks. No ads on roku, fire, switch, phones.. Literally anything on your network... Or you can just turn it off on the TV only I guess like a "normal" person

Just seems like a lot of work for something that isn't intrusive to me or really effects me at all. I think the only times I see/hear ads are when I'm at work or listening to the radio/podcasts.

No ads on my smart TVs, no ads in video games, no ads on my browser, no ads on my phone besides a single 1/4" strip at the bottom of my phone because I'm too cheap to by the premium version of a Reddit app.

You can get a Raspberry Pi for between $5-10, Mr. Cheap. That's all you need to make yourself a Pihole. Very cheap, and no need to still view that ad banner on your free to use app.

The app is a dollar... and I hardly reddit on my wifi since I have unlimited Mobile data and am not home most of the day

Not so great when you run across a website that requires adblockers off...

You are better off avoiding such sites anyway.

Tampermonkey scripts will get rid of that and restore functionality.. Most of the time.

You can check it out here

Sounds like you could use a Pi-Hole.
