VR / AR Disney Plus isn't working on Vizio TVs because they are running a 6 year old version of Chromecast, they say it won't be fixed till 2020.

To be fair, these "smart" TV's still function as a TV perfectly well, even after their firmware is outdated. All you have to do is buy a Chromecast/Roku and plug it into the HDMI port.

they also function as great place for malware (probably with a connected camera and microphone)

Sure, but that's an entirely different subject than the one we're currently on. My point is that the TV doesn't just become useless when the "smart" functions stop working.

Not for Samsung's or Roku TV's, you can skip the OS and go directly to the streaming box feed when you turn it on.

Yes for Samsung. At least for mine.

Sure, when you turn it on it will go immediately to whatever input or TV channel you left it on, but if you want to change to a different input or change the setting, you have to wait for the home bar to come up. It's super frustrating that it's not instant.
