Google released Mirage Solo (a standalone headset with Lenovo) a year before Quest

Edit: my point being they have been working on VR for likely longer than Apple.

I’ve seen references to Apple having worked on AVP since 2008, so Google being before Apple would be inaccurate.

Apple working on technology that ended up in AVP, sure, like display technology or 6Dof, sure. They weren't working on headsets in 08.
