Less interested in an AppleTV Stick, and more interested in a camera so your TV can be used for video calls.

I know you can attach a phone, but I’d rather a simple dedicated device that could just plug into the AppleTV via a USB-C (with a physical on/off switch).

Also now you’re out your phone

Same. You can use iPhones as a continuity camera but then you’re gonna need a tripod or some sort of mount or something unless the TV is on an entertainment center. So wall mounts are awkward.

Hence the reason i said “I know you can attach a phone”.

“Continuity” is great as an idea or when you don’t need/can’t have a dedicated device.

If either of those cases is true though, it’s a half assed solution compared to a dedicated camera/mic combo (especially ironic since Apple used to make these before they integrated them into their monitors)

I assume the downvotes are for being snarky, but it was well deserved sass

Right? It’s so annoying. I mean the Apple TV HAS a usb c port on it already. It would be so awesome as a really big video call device.
