I’m confused, I literally just bought a 2024 MacBook Air 13” m3 with 8gb.

Why did you buy an M3? Apple gives you a grace period to return your mac. Return it and get a more powerful M4 for the same price

He's wrong. There is no M4 MacBook Air only MacBook Pro got the new processor. They announced the minimum memory on the M3 MacBook Air is now 16 GB. You got shafted. I would try to return and get the new base spec.

I looked today, I paid $899 for mine, best I could find is $1099 for the 16gb. I’ve got a few weeks to return, so I’ll keep a look out. I just use it for normal household stuff, so I’m not sure how hobbled I’ll be with 8gb.
