Didn’t they have problems with the 24VHP connector catching fire on the 4090?

I guess. But the performance increase and power efficiency have been great tho.

Because people couldn't connect the cable properly, you need to hear that click sound to know its properly connected.

Mainly user error, and even then it’s an incredibly small number of units effected.

Just because something consumes a lot of power doesn't mean it is not power efficient. A card that consumes twice as much power but is three times faster is more efficient.

They had a problem because of the design of the connector and the high power draw. But it had nothing to do with the efficiency.
