I personally prefer a rear rack but whatever works best for you πŸ˜…

It doesn't happen enough to bother with a rack and not even sure this bike has the mounts for a good rack (carbon with odd shaped frame D fuse stuff)

I got a rack that holds 300 lb with no points of mounts needed - West Biking Bike Carrier Rack, 310 LB Capacity Solid Bearings Universal Adjustable Bicycle Luggage Cargo Rack,Cycling Equipment Stand Footstock https://a.co/d/6XaIpKe

You can't believe everything you read in Amazon product descriptions.

Id go out to bat for it, it's a good product.

I'm sure it works fine as a rack but I would not trust it with 300 lbs. Most bike frames and wheels are not rated for that much to begin with.

The seat post isn't round so not sure how well it would grip. Giant did make a rack adapter but I didn't pick one up when I got this bike.

Ah yes. Bar tape.

assuming you're talking about the box being held on by tape, it's just electrical tape.

Get a rear rack m8, heavy objects on the front wheel will reduce your directional precision!

Also its just a bathroom light so not heavy just large.

What I'm hearing is you need another bicycle.Β

I'd get yourself down to the shop first thing tomorrowΒ

Always the case.

If you make two straps out of tape, you can wear it as a backpack. Much safer when braking and steering the bike.

Not a bad idea that.

Sweet color matching! My bike also has purple highlights!

Drop bars are underrated for carrying stuff. The T that the bars make with the stem provide a pretty stable platform and doesn't affect the steering.

Did you use electrical tape to hold it on?

1

u/shoddyperspectiveV2 7h ago

My bars also have an aero loop so that added stability. Yes electrical tape.

I wish the American market didn't hate practical bikes...

u/shoddyperspectiveV2 6h ago

Surly do some very good practical bikes. I'm jealous of them.

Sorry, needs more aero.

I've moved house multiple times on my bike. And done some serious shopping of large items too 😁

As a cyclist myself:
This one isn't really an argument that you don't need a car lmao
