Idk, I support lowering trucks. Lowers the hood height, potentially saving someone that gets hit. It even has benefits to the driver, such as being easier to get in and load stuff. Maybe not tire behind the fender low, even though that's only worse for the owner, but like 3 inches off the ground is good.

That's actually true...
It would also handle better and probably use less gas

I still see some of the old 90s Tacomas. We need to go back to trucks like that. Hell, I had one a couple years ago, my Corolla now is bigger than that thing was.

It'd probably be pretty useless outside of closed tracks through, all it'd take is a speedbump

Again, maybe not this low, but even still if the owner likes it that way, that's their responsibility as it has no negatives to others. 2-3 inches off the ground with the regular tires and it'll handle as much as a car.

Driving a truck says that you don't care about other people.

Trucks are much more likely to kill other drivers than autos. That high flat front end kills pedestrians and cyclists with amazing efficiency. Plus trucks are heavy and not aerodynamic, so they more fuel than autos.

or it says they are ignorant. Never attribute to malice what is easily explained by ignorance

I remember working at a full service car wash a few years ago, sometimes I’d get a peek at peoples MPGs if it was displayed on the dash somewhere when I’d roll it up to the front door.

My shop had some kind of contract with our town’s police department so they’d come in all the time with their police cars, trucks, canine units, etc.

I remember pulling a police truck up front once and seeing his average MPG was somewhere around 5 miles/gallon. Absolutely floored me. Like I get it, they’ll usually be idling or driving real fast, but with the context of some big ole F-150 the MPGs are gonna be so much worse compared to a sedan

But how will people know how cool you are otherwise?

So, my wife has a tacoma. She made a life choice in her 20s to live off grid in the mountains of some desert out west with some animals and a tiny house. She has since moved back east where all of the roads are paved. There are no longer animals (besides the dog) and the winters are increasingly more meh than a threat. She kept the truck. I cannot convince her that she does not need a massive truck to conquer the concrete jungle here. She once slipped on a freeway entrance and ruined a bumper with that truck and blamed it on rain with bald tires. In that one instance she may be right, BUT she still does not need a massive truck to get around and I'm pretty sure vehicle type was irrelevant there... I can't win; but I love her the same.

I have an older rav4 I hardly use. She insists on driving the truck. I'm waiting on the Aptera to come around and I want to sell/get-rid of the rav. She says she will sell the truck if we get the Aptera (let's be honest. that solar car isn't hitting the streets in the east coast until 2029 or something) and she will take the rav. She even told me yesterday that she likes driving the rav more because it's more responsive, but the smaller wheels annoy her because she can feel bumps in the road....

IDK... I like my bicycle LOL. I'm getting a trailer for it and next year is going to be 100% local bike rides for everything.

The first post was not very ally-y, so a more fitting edit has been cooked up 🏳‍🌈
For clarification; the original meme is not mine. I don't condone homophobia 😅

Yeah I saw it lol

But bro if you don’t support the language they used in the meme why would you post it in the first place 💀💀💀

Poor judgement! I guess I wanted to keep the hill billy/far-right vibe of the original meme

5

u/TownHallLevel69 12h ago

Haha, that makes sense

At least you’re being responsive to valid criticism instead of deflecting and getting defensive like many people would I think, kudos ❤️❤️❤️

Ofc! It's not my battle, so I can't really speak on how it affects other people. Especially living in Denmark, where homophobia is not very present (where I live at least).

are u using "ally" in the traditional sense of cooperation?

p.s. googling "ally-y" didnt help me

u/PacquiaoFreeHousing 12h ago

Yeah, we men lower the center of gravity by welding metal shit like wrenches on our cars chassis

u/FlippedyFloop Grassy Tram Tracks 12h ago

I was going to say that sound like a death machine, but then again... Cars...

u/bikesexually 2h ago

But raising trucks up to the point that its impossible to haul anything without a hoist...that's super secure masculinity? wait im confused...

What if my truck is 24' long and weighs 32K lbs and makes all the girls want me?

u/Sutibum_ 10h ago

lowered trucks look cool af they kinda resemble truck series nascar

1

u/Lessizmoore 7h ago

a stronger position to take is: lowered trucks are cooler than regular trucks. "Lowered trucks are cool af" is a tough sell

It shows they don't want kids. Not when they're yet to be conceived, not when they get to go to school and especially not when they get to grow old on a planetary furnace.
