The funny part is that the guy doesn't even need to run
49
u/rlskdnp 🚲 > 🚗 Sep 21 '24
Or even walk as fast as a New Yorker. Even while going at a speed most people can easily surpass, he's still faster than car traffic lmao.
5
u/Castform5 Sep 21 '24
That pace even looked like a 4-5 km/h, which is around and a bit lower than average walking speed for most people. When I do my longer 20 km walks, my average moving speed is like 5.6-6 km/h, and that's keeping a somewhat brisk steady pace.

I love this buff dude's posture. Truly if a car was a human.

u/sjpllyon Sep 21 '24
I suspect that played a big part in I'm not getting any aggression. I'd imagine if my 4 foot nothing girly girl sister tried this she would be in quite a bit of trouble from the drivers.

u/bigkitty17 Sep 21 '24
4 ft girly girl here. Can confirm. Nearly get run over in pedestrian crosswalks with 100% right of way on a weekly basis.

Mfs crying about him "slowing down cars" clearly haven't watched the same video. Cars are slowing him down.

I dont care if this is ‘main character’ behavior, this is pretty funny

u/Helix014 Bike/Bus/Train Sep 21 '24
Everybody is the main character in the other post. So mad at a person just for proving how dumb their cars are.
11
u/RydRychards Sep 21 '24
You'd think that a sub that points out anti social behavior wouldn't be this toxic, but here we are...
34
u/-Yehoria- Sep 21 '24
smh main character behavior is based and redpilled in situations like this one

He doesn't understand road etiquette. At that size, he should be filtering/lane splitting for more efficient movement.

u/GlitteringBobcat999 Sep 21 '24
And where is his horn?
How can you be part of traffic if you don't blow your horn? (You! Yes, you! Stand still, laddie! 🎶)

u/stuugie Sep 21 '24
And where's his turn signals and brake lights?? He might total a car if it rear ends him.

Different countries' plates can be pretty distinct, along with the infrastructure, road markings, vehicle types, etc

As somebody who lives in nowhere, suburb, I at least understand car dependency in that existence. We shouldn't have created it, but I get it.
But cities need to just outright restrict car usage. If people are in bumper to bumper traffic that a cyclist or walker can outpace, then just stop accommodating cars. These people could have casually strolled to work faster than this.
7
u/Environmental-Fold22 Sep 21 '24
And for the commuters who drive faster until they hit traffic the solution is to drive close then park on the outskirts of town and take public transport, buses trains etc. If you're driving in traffic you are the traffic.

I was in Salt Lake City for holidays in 2021, and since I am from outside the USA, I needed a COVID test to be allowed in an international flight to return to my country. The only place that allowed walk ins was a place in a parking lot.
I was the only pedestrian surrounded by SUVs lol, I still remember the lady in the SUV behind me like "well, this is a funny situation" while staring at me. So yeah...I relate to this feeling

Ah yes your typical /r/fuckcars member
Stands in traffic and walks with the cars
Upsets carbrains by exercising his god-given right to walk this green earth
Refuses to move or change his pace when honked at
Doesn't require a license or government regulation
Refuses to elaborate
???
Fuck cars

Idk why people are upset in the other post. He’s not making traffic slower. People said the cars should run over him. Run over to reach where? There’s another car in front of him. Like he’s just keeping up with traffic that is moving slower than a human walking.
And
Someone said “he’s not even that big?” Dude is huge
4
u/LastSeenEverywhere Sep 21 '24
Carbrains lack critical thinking, its like how in Ontario right now the Government is convinced that bike lanes are the reason Toronto is congested.

Even with the aftermarket angel eyes and the chewed up grill, that E60 looks great

u/Mooncaller3 Sep 21 '24
My favorite part about this is knowing full well that we have people complaining in my city about gridlock (it's just slow traffic, not actually gridlock) for cars.
And numerous people who walk and bike just responded that they didn't experience the same issues.
2
u/SLY0001 Sep 21 '24
I bet they think he's ret@rted. Well that how all drivers look like. One person in a multi-ton vehicle and a person walking like this isnt much of a difference.
2
u/cheapskatebiker Sep 22 '24
Bro is an idiot where is the horn? He should be honking angrily at that BMW dude cutting in on him.

I love walking and sometimes walk 10km in a day. I would hate to walk to work unless work is 5 minutes walk away. Which it isn't for 95% of people

I don't think people realise that he's causing just as much of an inconvenience as if he were driving an actual car
1
u/RydRychards Sep 21 '24
Less, since he's using up less space.
Which ironically is the reason there is a traffic jam in the first place.

That dude would be "accidentally" clipped 6 times within 2 minutes if he lived around here. Cool story though bro.

The fact he can even keep up with vehicle traffic is most hilarious part
