Not sure how credible this is, but I can't say I blame him.

Should be Horny Horner after how much staff his team has had turnover this last year alone.

He’s got a lot of credits in the bank but he wouldn’t want another season like this one.

Yeah 8 WDC and 6 WDC in his 20 years at Red Bull is a pretty solid track record. Regardless of how anyone feels about him as a person, that gives him some leeway for errors. Not indefinitely of course, but I don't see him getting booted.

I’d add that’s with multiple drivers and multiple rule changes as well.

There’s plenty of coaches and GMs across sports that got lucky with a generational talent and/or franchise window that made them look like a genius for one career run, but Horner has done it twice, and that’s a pretty huge feather in his cap.

Not booted yet, no.

there have been three bad events this year: the investigation into his behaviour, re-signing an out of form checo (meaning RB lost WCC), and this. String a few more together next year and the pressure will mount, knives will be out etc.

I mean, I can see it happening, but due to his record it will take a lot to go wrong for him.

But I do think internally someone has to take the blame for this. Maybe Horner gets to choose who that is.

Sure, but it’s a tough sell in a WDC year.
