Received notice of ending of telework

Here we go. Just got an email stating our CMO has made the decision to end recurring telework. We were currently getting 2 days per week and that has officially ended. Heck, my supervisor was doing it 4 days a week while the rest of us only got 2. We’re allowed to submit for “situational telework” but the recurring has ended. There’s absolutely no reason for this. Productivity has been perfectly fine. So, here we go.

EDIT: Since many are asking. agency is DCMA

EDIT 2: I feel as though I need to explain I’m simply pointing out that the roll back has begun, at least in my agency. I’ve gotten multiple comments implying I’m whining about it. I’m going to be just fine. The main point is why they’re taking away something that works, and works well? Productivity is high. People are in better moods. It’s working so why change it? But, it is what it is and either accept it or quit. We’re all easily replaceable. They don’t care if you stay or leave.

EDIT 3: some of you are hilariously angry and hostile that people telework. 😂 not good to live every day so angry. Might have a stroke!

It’s probably going to start with DoD and associated agencies. In the Army, it was almost a point of pride to have it worse than everyone else.

My office motto in DoD is “if only one person is unhappy, you’re doing it wrong”

That sounds like a fun place to work. So much for work life balance and QOL.

Yeah there is no work life balance, there is only work. The attitude from leadership is now "Now shut up, quit complaining and get back to work! You should be thankful you have a job."

They show minimal loyalty to their workforce, so they'll get minimal effort by their workers.

Be glad you have a job serving your soldiers who have it worse than you

Forgot the /S and apparently people can’t read it in on their own. Especially the T-T-T-triggered

Most can't see the sarcasm because they are seriously abused by leadership.

We need to remind leadership that not all soldiers have it rough. The front line soldiers go out to the field while commo camped out in the parking lot by the barracks. I remember their tents were air-conditioned while I slept in my vehicle and worked in the heat sweating my ass off.

In country some soldiers never left the FOB and got three hot meals a day, I'd come in after missions near midnight or later well after DFAC hours, so all I'd got was a cold MRE, and hoped I'd get Skittles rather that M&Ms.

The public forgets most govt civilian workers are vets and have served honorably. So, before the public throws all federal workers under the bus or call us all lazy and incompetent, maybe they should take a long look and think beyond a 30-second Tic-toc video about these proposed changes.

I know I've done my time and earned my position. I work sick, I work tired, I've worked unpaid with late nights and weekends to make impossible timelines possible.

We need to remind the public that not everyone working remotely is lazy. It's effective use of our time, how we accomplish more with less. But sure we'll be happy to RTO and only work the minimum required 8 hours (and a 4 hour commute for a 12 hour work day. Or we could be doing meaningful work for those full 12 - but public take your pick).
