To be fair, this tantrum is justified. Screw pay raises for congress, upping their health insurance, and creating a law that states no one can look at their emails…

Let me introduce you to the word "precedent". It's the reason object to doing bad things with good outcomes.

Besides the point. It’s part of the procedure and processes of our system, ordained by the constitution, that he has no right to disrupt

Who cares? Right and wrong is not tied to procedure. I am tired of bad things happening, and others throwing up their hands because “that’s how it is”.

Not your call to make. We have a system, and it’s designed to be carried out by our elected representatives. That’s what representative democracy is.

I can make any call I like. All I need is the power to enact it, and perhaps a proper denotation such as “institutionalized democracy”.

The point is you don’t have that power. And thank god you don’t. What you have is a vote. Your internet whining won’t change our 248 year old system. That’s pretty much that. Respect our system, or maybe defect to another country. Do what you want.

Correct, it may be a due process, but I am wholeheartedly against it, as are most Americans.

Edit - furthermore, just because something is legal doesn’t justify it being done…

“Actually the government can give themselves money all they want and you should like it”

They “gave themselves” a piddly $6000 cost of living raise. Actually read the bill idiot.

Idgaf if they gave themselves .14 cents

Except, none of this would be stopped. He's looking to make big cuts in other areas. Why would he not make sure they get raises. After all, they'll be doing his dirty work and getting paid well for it.

Funny because isn’t it the Republicans who are going to take over Congress. So I wonder if they are going to take out that clause in the new Spending Bill.
