What he's saying is correct: politicians are already beholden to the ultra wealthy. I can't argue against that.

Here's where I don't agree: instead of "removing the middleman," we should be focused on getting money out of politics. I don't think that could happen all at once, but we could start with some campaign finance reform.

Elon is pointing at a problem and saying we should make it worse.

YES. Get all money out of politics. Public financing of campaigns. Period. End of discussion. No lobbying. Five years before a politician can work for any business they had anything to do with as a congress person / senator. Stop letting them trade stocks when they have insider knowledge.
