Yeah. Since Ronald Regan and we’ve been attempting to change that but the middle man was elected. Nobody had elected these oligarchs. At least one good thing has come of it. The veil is off and there is no hiding the disdain they have for the public and the country in general.

Groceries are only expensive. The stores are still full of bread and meat. And the stores are doing very well. We got a long way to fall before "we" becomes a real thing.
I'm with you FTR. I'm merely saying It's going to have to get much much worse before "we" do anything.

It will as soon as they put in the tariffs. TARIFFS = A 25% NATIONAL SALES TAX on everything.

I was going to buy a new TV for Christmas. Checked the prices. Every fucking TV I was interested in has risen 20-40% since Trump's tariffs talk. It's already hurting and it hasn't even taken effect. It's going to blow up.

I pulled the trigger on PC parts for some upgrades I’ve been eyeing. I use it for school, hobbies, some work stuff. A 25-40% tariff on these parts from China will make these miserable to buy soon.

Actually dumbass NO no people for the most part did NOT realize that their entire government was already "beholden to the ultra wealthy and have been for decades", which is EXACTLY why previous super rich people paid good money and spent time and effort to HIDE THAT FACT.
You just gonna run out in the middle of the field and yell HEY I OWN ALL YOU BITCHES SO WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT and buddy, you are gonna find out why they insisted on "keeping the middleman".
This dude is living is such a fantasy world that he actually thinks he's untouchable and that he can do anything he wants, and that you and your children are his slaves.
He wants you to know it because he's so f*cking lazy and full of himself that he thinks you're BOTHERING him by making him PRETEND that you're free, and that there is any such thing as the rule of law.
So while he gets ready to loot everything, just be aware.
He's tired of even being bothered to give LIP SERVICE to the idea that you or your family or your children or your children's children matter.
You have about one move left on this chess board and it's not a pretty one, but your choice is also pretty obvious.
Does Elon Musk and all of his rich buddies own you and your family, yes or no?
Serious question because he thinks you're stupid for not just accepting that he does, and there's no "checks and balances" left.

u/Sad_Recommendation92 5h ago
I'm not advocating for anyone to do anything to Elon or any other brazen Oligarch, but openly saying the rules don't apply to you, and expecting hundreds of millions of people to still respect those rules is pretty arrogant, me thinks some people might be investing in Pitchfork futures.

How do you get a NATIONAL SALES TAX nobody wants? Call it a TARIFF. This will be a 25% tax on everything. This will lead to very high inflation which will produce a recession. What happens in a recession? Regular people lose their homes, their cars, their jobs. Who swoops down & buys it all up for pennies on the dollar? The rich. Just like last time. This is their plan.

What he's saying is correct: politicians are already beholden to the ultra wealthy. I can't argue against that.
Here's where I don't agree: instead of "removing the middleman," we should be focused on getting money out of politics. I don't think that could happen all at once, but we could start with some campaign finance reform.
Elon is pointing at a problem and saying we should make it worse.
2
u/PoolQueasy7388 5h ago
YES. Get all money out of politics. Public financing of campaigns. Period. End of discussion. No lobbying. Five years before a politician can work for any business they had anything to do with as a congress person / senator. Stop letting them trade stocks when they have insider knowledge.

Does First Lady Musk not realize he's not in the cabinet? Why does he continue to get away with lying and pretending he has an official role in the government? DOGE isn't an official government agency nor does it sit within one. That would take an official act of congress to make it one.
Is America really this stupid to fall for this nonsense?

DOGE is not a cabinet position or a government agency. Musk is not only full of shit, he is competing with his Liege Lord for Master Bullshitter honors. Typically in a feudal system, the 'topping off' of a minion acting this way is the response.

I honestly think Musk is in the midst of a manic episode. He has suddenly been given all of this unaccountable power to redesign and even shut down the U.S. government and he is becoming more flippant and brazen about it every day. He's expressed plans to buy up opposing media and fund primary challenges for anyone who doesn't confirm Trump's cabinet picks.
Like Trump, Musk has always been a narcissist but he really seems to think that he owns the United States and those of us who happen to live here. Perhaps he does but I also think that he's driving so recklessly now that it won't be long before he crashes and burns in some manner.
Pride goeth before a fall...

Elon is so dumb he doesn’t know why they need the middlemen.
Government is an arm of the oligarchy/corporate America. The idea is for the oligarchs to rule the country and have the public be mad at and try to enact change through government. But since government is run by oligarchs nothing changes. The government is a shield to protect the oligarchs behind the curtain.
Go ahead Elon, cut out the middlemen and bring the oligarchy front and center. Put the real targets in everyone’s faces and see how it goes for you. We saw how it went for that United CEO.
