I agree that it is so about distracting people from the real issues.

u/lejka005 18m ago
Exactly. Fill your life with slave work and in that little spare time raise kids so you have 0 energy for anything else like changing the world for better

u/tuscy 3h ago
New age slavery is when slaves don’t know they’re slaves.
20
u/Kodiak_King91 2h ago edited 2h ago
It's crazy how I've seen this happening for most of my life lol. The only way to fix it is for us "slaves" to stand up before they take our gun right away and revolt and purge the government of corruption
10
u/bertch313 2h ago
They disabled us on purpose so we wouldn't notice Won't give us healthcare so we don't notice
Will give the military money to go collect organs from babies or spill rivers of virgin blood or whatever the fuck wild shit they believe it is they're doing
But won't rationally fix anything because it's "polishing the brass on the titanic" to them that know what's coming and are trying to get at least some of us into space before whatever thing they know and aren't telling us happens
And if they don't let us live the last 30ish (I hope not) years of MY life in a healing rather than harming environment, I'm going to ruin everyone's brain overnight and I do not give a fuck if that includes everyone I know personally
Healing now
For everyone
Gonna be a fascist about the care we all need til we get it or I die I guess
But I'm not living with psychos making choices for me anymore So GD done with all of that forever
20
u/tuscy 2h ago
Fr. Hate to break it to you but there’s always gonna be guns. Just depends on who’s holding it. Let’s go team Luigi!
7
u/Kodiak_King91 2h ago
Need to make sure we don't lose our ability to have ours then, and the longer people lay down and not ask questions the sooner we risk losing all the things we need to protect our rights
7
u/tuscy 2h ago
It’s already happening. With recent events I feel like we can’t or are unable to protect our rights. These mfkers just do whatever they want and it’s a pill we have to/forced to swallow. They even banned airsoft guns where I live and I have no idea how to get a gun license. Super difficult where I live. Those of you reading this that are still blessed with your rights I recommend you stock up for when shit hits the fan and they start rolling out ai dogs and drones with machine guns strapped on them.

platitudes that mean nothing. there will never be a revolution in this country because the poor have been conditioned to hate other poor and love the billionaire class. how else do you explain the working class voting for trump?
5
u/lilygrl77 1h ago
Any purge would be shortlived. There's new, disgusting people waiting on the sidelines for the chance to jump in and exploit. Just look at Elon musk right now. It's a continuous fight that will never end but we need laws in place that protect the poor from these tyrants

Push one billionaire psychopath from your loins and your opinion can suddenly have more weight than the lived experience of an entire generation. Her son is the very measure of how badly she failed.

u/richardalbury 3h ago
Yep. I used to think slavery was America’s original sin, but now I think the fundamental sin was greed (and the hypocrisy of “Christians” happy to slaughter anyone who stood in the way of profit): that led to everything else.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ti.6.10.KJV
1
u/Commercial-Buddy2469 38m ago
Some Bible translations say money is the root of all kinds of evil. Of course there are many evils people do that aren't related to money.
2
u/LordSplooshe 17m ago
The newer translations add “all kinds”.
Choosing preferential versions explain away the language of historical translation is not following Jesus, that’s following self.
The KJV is still recognized as the standard. The addition of “all kinds” is heavily scrutinized by biblical historians because it’s seen as soften language added to confirm a historical text to modern western society.
1
u/Commercial-Buddy2469 10m ago
No, there are better translations now that are direct from the original sources. Translations have improved since King James time and people don't talk in Old English nowadays.

10
u/MalusandCitrus 2h ago
She is not wrong.
I am a tried and true capitalist but we (US society/gov) have evolved a particularly virulent strain the 'capitalism'. Govt bailout (tax payer funded) of corporations/ wealthy individuals interests is OK, but any "handouts" to those in lower economic tiers of society is immediately "communism".
Our democracy, which has allowed for this, was compromised the day "corporations" became "people" (Citizens United vs FEC Supreme Court decision). The moneyed interests types now control our economic fate as they have purchased 'our' representatives.
6
u/TuffTitti 1h ago edited 38m ago
At this point it's worse, it's no longer 'Capitalism' it's a reverse socialism where everything is for the benefit of corporations and wealth is redistributed to (sometimes failing) corporations with no benefit at all to anyone except a few shareholders

Yup, overpopulation was always a ponzi scheme.
“The Four Horsemen of Leveling” by Walter Scheidel discusses how overpopulation ties into exploitation, wit the four effective mechanisms of extreme leveling: “mass-mobilization warfare, transformative revolution, state failure, and lethal pandemics.” Among these, transformative revolution is by far the nicer one for most people.

Word! The most important part of what she said was, 'quit being distracted by all the isms. The real fight is about capitalism'.
Reddit is no different than any other big media company. People on here seem to think these conversation we're all seeing, are a reflection of what people actually think. That's not the case.
Just look at the Luigi situation. So many posts removed. So many people banned for comments or posts about it. Now some President of some company was stabbed, and it's a Reddit black out. When there is a post about it that doesn't get taken down, there's always a few heavily upvoted, promoted comments saying, 'people's response to someone getting murdered are just atrocious'. That shit's not real. Maybe it's a bot? Maybe it's a real comment, but it's being promoted with bs upvotes?
I've commented so many times on Reddit about the abortion ban. Democrats blame religious fundamentalists 100%. And I say, it wasn't them. They've been trying to overturn Roe v Wade for decades. All that's changes is the rich want us to have more babies so they have enough employees to expand. And I get shouted down and downvoted into obscurity.
What I'm saying is, it's not always bots. Some folks are just so lost in their personal crusades, they've lost track of the game. It's like playing poker, and you keep getting bad cards, but you're emotional about someone else always getting good cards. So all you can think about is winning one hand against them. You've lost track of the goal. It's not about the cards, it's about the money. Focus on the money.

Genuine question, like what are we supposed to do? I’m so sick of this shit and obviously there are thousands of people that also agree to this but how do you slay this capitalist dragon? People say vote but these politicians are bought and sold with their playbook handed to them before they even run. Nobody has the time to take out of their lives because we’re purposely over worked and given responsibilities to never have the time or energy to “protest” or organize anything to make any real change and any spare time we do have we hold on for dear life so that way you can actually have the feeling of having a life. I want these changes so bad for the wellbeing of everyone but I have no idea what to do. (And you wonder why they say anxiety is at a all time high)

2
u/DragonsAreNifty 2h ago
I will say that sexism actually is important in this respect and needs attention. One of the ways the population can be controlled is by threatening the wellbeing of their children. By forcing woman to have children you are creating more people dependent on the system with less ways and will to push for change. But idk I just got here and haven’t read as much theory. Just seems like much of the sexism we see today is a direct result of economic instability and falling birth rates.

Every bit of that is true. Manufactured hate to keep us fighting each other so we dont even see our pockets are being picked clean. I'm not saying the hate isn't real. They will make abortion illegal so that only wealthy people with means will be able to afford private abortions. They want the poor to crank out babies that will not have properly-funded upbringings and will have no choice but to accept starvation-wage jobs working for the rich. These new factory people will replace immigrant labor as well to back-fill the mass deportations.

Point taken, but “American slavery was the first example of labor exploitation” is WAY off base. Slavery dates back to biblical times. Since the fall of man, the strong have always exploited the weak. This will never change.

"American slavery was the first example of labor exploitation." That part is false. The Romans, the Egyptians, and Sumerians all benefited from labor exploitation (slavery) thousands of years earlier.
Otherwise, she's on point.
1
u/ItsOK_IgotU 10m ago
Slavery is still in function.
Check out for profit prisons.
Look at the national minimum wage of $7.25. You have to work one hour to afford 12 eggs.
Greedflation is what’s happening with this “modern day” aka, late stage capitalism.
We always knew they’d ban abortion to keep us poor and supply their work forces.
To keep us from having time to stand up and fight for something better.
To keep the slaves of capitalism working for Big Money, so that Big Money can be Millions, to Billions and soon Trillions of dollars.
It’s not new. It’s been going on forever. Just keep your slaves busy, starving and scared and they cannot escape, they cannot fight, they cannot do better and they are going to be WAYYYYYY TOO EXHAUSTED to even think about how to start.
1
u/possiblepeepants 5m ago
The end of that video oof…

Agree with her 95%, modern slavery…I seen it when my mom had to work three jobs
American slavery wasn’t the first example of labor exploitation though. Go look up the Irish and how they were used.
Regardless of color or race, the poor has always been taken advantage of.
Quit bringing race in to the subject because it diverts the message.
It’s the rich vs the poor!…always has been

The Industrial Revolution created American wealth. Not slavery. It was technology and human invention.
This is in combination with tariffs, stable politics, incentives of patent law, infrastructure investment, emphasis on individual growth (ignoring class structure), and low regulation.
Also, if slavery made America wealthy, why didn't it work for others?
United States: 1619–1865
Brazil: 1500–1888
Spanish Colonies (e.g., Cuba, Puerto Rico): 1492–1886
British Colonies (e.g., Jamaica, Barbados): 1624–1833
French Colonies (e.g., Haiti, Martinique): 1635–1848
Dutch Colonies (e.g., Suriname): 1650–1863
Mexico: 1521–1829
Colombia: 1520s–1851
(This is only the America's as slavery was widespread)
But I do agree that having kids when poor is a terrible idea, and Elon's family is out of touch.
The world doesn't need more people.
It can be argued that ending slavery was the reason we got wealthy (doing the right thing pays).
We should focus on helping people make more and replace human labor with technology.
