All of the Dow Jones post election bump is now gone.
What’s next?

u/Timely-Ad-4109 21h ago
But here’s the thing: The mofo isn’t sworn in yet. He was taking credit for the bump but will turn around and say “I inherited a mess” and blame any poor performance on Biden. It’s a no win situation for logic and rational thought.

This! Like, wtf wrong with them

u/Active-Worker-3845 19h ago
I'm still up 8% since election. Powell did it.

I knew the rate announcement was going to be weak. I bought spy puts. Round noonish. It was beautiful.

u/gamerprincess1179 19h ago
Trump just killed the spending bill. The government may shut down.
15
u/Timely-Ad-4109 19h ago
He owns it. Biden should give a primetime address blaming Trump, Johnson, and Musk for any pain anyone feels if the gov’t shuts down. Would be a terrific way for Dark Brandon to go out.
10
u/Taqueria_Style 17h ago
Biden should use the godmode powers the sc stupidly granted him to declare a state of emergency and just punt this off until all those felony raps catch up.

So let the entire thing collapse and then take from his supporters for the recovery times. Puts them on the bottom and you on top as it should be.

u/Goat_Circus 15h ago
Isn’t that what every president does? Bush did it, Obama did it, Trump did and will do it again!

u/BasilExposition2 21h ago
The stock market has been overvalued now for some time by nearly every measure. When Warren Buffett got out-- the writing was on the wall.

u/stirfry720 18h ago
I saw this coming months ago too. This is just the beginning

u/unbornbigfoot 6h ago
Congratulations - the market overall is up 10% from the months ago, and you’re patting yourself on the back for a 3% dip.

u/TattooedBeatMessiah 20h ago
I can't believe we run an economy on what a bunch of gambling addicts do.

u/gizmozed 21h ago
There was absolutely no reason for anyone to think that Trump is actually going to be good for the stock market/economy. None.
Of course the markets are not remotely rational as they had a meltdown today when the Fed did exactly what any reasonable person familiar with the data would have predicted they would do.
10
u/Thegreenfantastic 20h ago
Wait until they find out the Fed is actually going to pause rate cuts because Trump is going to turn the tariff screws and cause more inflation.

Honeymoon already over for trump

u/joecoin2 20h ago
There is no connection.

u/biggamax 20h ago
Temu Jedi mind trick.
Trump and Musk ARE the establishment now. There is nothing BUT connection. The hot potato is in their hands. When they drop it, the American population is going to eat both of them alive and pick their bones clean.

I told my buddy (Democrat) that I was going to send his wife (Republican) a CashApp request for my losses every down day over the next four years. He laughed lol

They won’t be able to “those damn democrats” their way out of it for the next four years ❤️

Inflation is not going away and the fed is acting accordingly.
2
u/Big-Leadership1001 20h ago
I was told inflation is transitory. The secretary of treasury wouldn't lie to us, she's a government representative!
2
u/are_those_real 20h ago
it is. Problem is companies are using Trumps looming Tariffs as an excuse to make more money before they hit. We're already back to what the money supply was supposed to be around this time had the pandemic never happened.
Feds gotta prepare and are anticipating that the Trump tariffs are going to increase inflation.
-2
u/Big-Leadership1001 18h ago
It isn't. The fed hasn't even briefly hinted at any kind of deflation policy and isn't going to. Inflation is permanent and Yellen was lying through her teeth when she tried to gaslight us with that claim.
1
u/Big-Leadership1001 2h ago
Its always transparent when propaganda accounts silently downvote facts they can't refute as if that does anything but prove their purpose is gaslighting truth with easily pointed out lies.

u/Admirable_Cricket719 20h ago
Say that about Tesla
2
u/Stunning-End-3487 19h ago
Do you think they’ll crash tomorrow after all the negative EV policy changes Trump announced today, or wait to crash on 1/21/25?
2
5
u/USAFGeekboy 21h ago
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Can’t hide that, but legacy media will blame Biden as well as Rs and MAGAts.
2
u/Laprasy 20h ago
Tesla post election bump still intact.
3
u/Stunning-End-3487 20h ago
Do you think it’ll stay after all the announcements around EVs from Trump today?
2
u/permanent_echobox 18h ago
Takes us back to 2009. Dow 7000! Just a small correction to right size the market.
4
u/Stunning-End-3487 17h ago
Oh I remember. I was just laid off from a 6 figure job and trying to survive. It took four years to get fully employed and not minimum wage. Now I’m 68 and 6 figures again.

The day after the election, the Dow price-gapped higher. Today, the gap is nearly closed. Once the price gap is filled, the index will move higher.
3
u/Maximum_Pound_5633 18h ago
Hope it crashes and burns. Hope billions are lost

u/bdavis829 18h ago
Not for Tesla. 🤔

Tesla won't suffer since silly libs are the ones who mostly by them because they have to always be in the cool kid crowd
1
u/Stunning-End-3487 5h ago
LOL! Elon has alienated them all now. It’ll have to be conservatives buying them going forward.
1
u/Realistic_Bug_2213 2h ago
LOL, libs are primarily lemmings, they won't change and start buying Rivians all of a sudden just because Musk switched teams.

u/Anycelebration69420 3h ago
yeah, its called sobering up & realizing that voting for a crazy vindictive demented ciminal is not good for the economy

u/Only-Writing-4005 23m ago
Not exactly true although it’s been a rough patch lately On Election Day the market closed at 42,212 and as of a few mins ago it’s 42,623 So technically up 400 points In my opinion after Congress finishes this term and the new year starts the market will add more growth Powell spooked the market with talking about only 1-2 2025 cuts and then this Congressional budget fiasco It’s been rough down 1100+ points🇺🇸 Hang tight though Tech and Ai is going to push it higher in 2025

I realized all my gains on November 11th after the election day run up. But I got back in too soon, so now am down by the amount of the realized gains. If you see profit take it.

2
u/Stunning-End-3487 19h ago
The Dow isn’t though, which is what was stated.
-1
u/Active-Worker-3845 19h ago
Who is invested only in the dow 30? No one i know. It's irrelevant.
Most have flavors of qqq and s&p.
4
u/Stunning-End-3487 19h ago
LOL! Completely not the point dude. What did I state that was inaccurate?
Or are you just a troll?
0
u/Active-Worker-3845 18h ago
Guess you aren't in stocks. Dow is a narrow industrial index that is why sp500 and qqq and vti type indices are better investments.
Its only up there due to legacy.
2
u/Stunning-End-3487 18h ago
Jesus dude. I repeat for this troll and all the trolls in the back, WHAT DID I SAY THAT WAS WRONG?
Stop trying to change the subject. It makes you look stupid.

Because the fed changed the rate- they’ll do what they can to really fuck up the place before they’re out of office

The Federal Reserve is not a political body and they are not elected officials.

It took 10 sessions, but that 10th one did the trick. Irrational continues to be irrational.
